Wow, what a amazing job on your CL rims man! looking mean and clean.

I love them. I can definatly see the difference with clear, there is a difference iv'e used clear many times especially on my rims and they do make a diff!!

aircraft stripper is at any auto parts store, or hardware store... personally i used some acetone....


any thnaks rayz.. i'd post more pics czu that one isnt too great but this isnt the place for them...

Very nice work man!

i used the ENGINE paint that u get from lke oreileys... i did 2 layers of primer... 4 layers of gloss black.... and 2 layers of clear

is it ok to have rims sandblasted to get them to bare metal ? dont fancy spending forever doin it with cleaner and hassle/mess that goes with it

yea u can sandblast them.. if ur gonna paint them make sure u have a rough surface for the primer to stick to tho

it only took me like 10 minutes a wheel to wetsand the top layer of clearcoat off... it doesnt have to be down to bare metal

i've got a set of instructions that i used to paint the wheels on my xterra. pretty indepth since i wrote it for my class. had to write it so an idiot could do basically.


hell of a 1st post i know...but i'm just trying to figure out where i can post.

well let me show you how to really paint a rim on a budget with 3 easy steps

1 - rattle can primer (same shade of color that you useing on rims)\

2 - rattle can paint any color you can find any brand doesnt matter

wat tape or object do you use to mask off for a lip? an wat grain to wet sand?!thanx for the info!!!i painted my rims haha just to see how it would turn out but it wasnt that good so ima resand mines an redo!! an im puttin new tires on it too haha!
