91 4 door ..When I got the car it was a sohc zc. ..it was kinda beat leaking everywhere. Came across a d15b2 for 100 dropped it in mpfi swapped found a fuel rail at the junkyard with injectors off a eg .car runs really good smells like gas but doesn't leak and smokes a bit enough to get my attention. I've never really experienced this.its not the head gasket I don't think I've fix cars with bad head gaskets and the exhaust smelt different. ..it has a ebay header no cat resonator stock dx muffler..running rich? Sparkplugs and wires?

If after you've done a tune up and all else checks out, maybe you need to consider having the injectors themselves checked. Mine used to be the same way to the point that I could not pass CA smog test for running too rich on the 15mph test. After replacing everything possible, I had my injectors professionally cleaned. My car passed, has been passing, and the injectors are loaned out to friends when needed. My only guess to the culprit was that they weren't fully closing (sticking) when they were supposed to.

Get a fuel pressure gauge and hook it up.
Pressurize the system, turn the ignition to ON for a few seconds a couple times to prime the fuel system, remove the key.
the fuel pressure should be up around 38psi.
Wait a few minutes and check the gauge again - do not reprime the system.
The system should hold the pressure for quite some time.
If it drops down significantly, then you have a leak somewhere.
The leak can be external dropping fuel on the ground, or internal like the injectors not holding or the fuel pressure regulator leaking.
If the pressure holds for a LONG time then there probably aren't any fuel leaks.
Then check the fuel return and vapor systems.

are you using high impedance injectors with a fuel injector resistor? the eg injectors are not designed to run with the resistor that the obd0 engine would have used.

Hm...
the grounds for each injector should each have a separate connection to the ECU to fire them individually.
The power wires should be connected together and run to the main relay.
Sounds like you have a wiring issue.
What ECU are you running on this anyway?

i agree, possible wiring problems. when i removed a resistor i just make a jumper plug with all the wires that went to the resistor soldered together and plug it into where the resistor went (just in case i ever go back to stock, plus its a cleaner install imo), and then leave the 4 other wires going back to the ecu.

Bump...I'm sure the wiring is fine no cel The 02 is new cel came on for a sec then I was looking around and unplugged the battery. .never came back on. .it runs good idles at 1100 tho maybe the timings off .It's in the middle .I can't see it being that off that it's not burning all the fuel ...I'm just gonna wait till I get the cash for the tune up .and a fuel filter. ..I'll keep you guys posted thanks for the feedback as always! !!!

Had to double check and turns out you are good on the wiring.
A15 goes to the same pin on the main relay as the injectors.
You could have saved some wiring and just done it the way v4lu described, but yeah.... Same result.
What ecu are you using?
