thick grease
my cv boot broke and the grease just got all over my front rim. what should i use to clean the thick grease off my rim?
i've tried to use the pressure water thinggy at the car wash place, but it didn't really help at all. the grease was just too thick.
it has been 6months already and the grease and the dirt got all dried up and it's pretty hard to take off.
what should i use? simple green? i guess something degreaser will work right?
please advise!
thanks

Re: thick grease (vtec94)
Simple Green or any degreaser/all purpose cleaner will work. Spray it on and let it sit -- let it work -- for a minute or so. Then, scrub it carefully so you don't scratch the rim, rinse well and start over again.
You'll probably have to do it over and over again, but eventually you'll get it clean. Depending on your rims' finish, be careful not to let the degreaser sit TOO long -- it may etch some clear coated rims.
BTW, the sooner you remove ANY dirt, the easier it is to remove. Over time, dirt just gets "baked on" and it actually bonds to the surface. It's tougher to remove then.
