I just found out that the atf doesn't even need to be looped. Just capped off is good enough. The atf has a separate reservoir.

theres already a tube there so looping was just the easier way. looping or capping.. does the same thing.

theres no need to do anything w./the atf ports at the rad. because its just a circuit through the rad, but capping it will keep crap out of the rad atf circuit i guess...

Good write up. This will be coming in handy as I plan on doing this for next year. I guess it would be best to start sourcing parts over the winter months.
Maybe I missed it....how much did this end up costing you?

From what I understood, they only made aluminum rads for manuals. My buddy and I just swapped one in last friday as well as a tranny oil cooler for auto trans. Required a number of modifications due to it's 2" width. We had to lower the crossmember a centimetre and raise the rad about 3 milimetres to get it to fit. Also had to notch the fan shroud and the blades otherwise they would hit the front motor mount. Need to install a FAL slim fan though .

I'm doing an automatic to manual conversion on my 98 Accord (6th gen) and was wondering a few things.

One being the ECU....which manual ECU do I need (obd1, obd2)? I have an F23 motor. 2.3L VTEC....

Also, is there any need to reprogram the keys when the ECU is changed like that?

hi. i am almost done my swap now, and am jammed here on the tranny mount. i dont know wat exactly would be the best to do. the mount for the tranny does't line up with the bracket on the car. im try to look for a new mount that would work with out me cutting and welding. i think thats the route im goint to have to take tho. but i was wondering wat mount was used in the write up?. the one in the picture doesnt look like mine. but it does loook like the one i need. also i have a 94. and i used a 91 tranny. ANY help will be great . thanks.

This is by far the best post i have seen for this swap. I am thinking about doing this swap. How much did you pay for it? Is the success rate high?
