EG?
as you can see by the side bar i have all of about 2 posts so im new to H-T. im wondering why most of you feel the need to call your civics an "EG." i know its what its called in Japan and it does sound cooler than EH but it simply isnt an EG, especially the coupe owners...theyre not even an available model in Japan. why also do the majority of you almost always make the distinction of jdm this or that? everyone on honda-tech is fixated on what DM things are. who cares? ive seen too many times people will put fake spoons a fake duckbill wing throw on a pair of fake vision corners and a muffler pointing sideways then all of a sudden they have a JDM EG6. get over the label and drive your civic

Re: EG? (EH HatchuBacku)
Couldn't agree with you more, but since they were all branded EGs and EKs long before this site was started, it's easier to just classify them all as such.

I agree with you 100%. I style my car the way I want and not according to HT protocol. You could find 100 cars on here that are IDENTICAL to eachother. You wont find many cars identical to mine. It is unique and not just a carbon copy of a bunch of "JDM stlye parts". I like to use some of the JDM stlye in my mix but I would never go all out "JDM".

Yes, unless it's an SI. Then, it would be an EM1

just cause my user name is jdmeghatch6 does not mean i claim that my car is or is anything like a 'jdm eg6'. as said before i like how the cars comes from the factory in japan. now if my user name was myjdmeghatch6 then i could understand why it would annoy people. in any case im gunna change it soon anyway.

exactly. who cares?
EH, EG, EW, EO, whatever. i have gotten used to the "EG" moniker b/c it's commonly known as such by the members.
i probably have one of the most unique setups out there -- a stock Si hatch!

Re: EG? (EH HatchuBacku)
One thing that I was wondering, why does it matter? What I mean is, when some guy you don't know, goes to a shop, or goes online and orders a set of Rota slipstreams and a duckbill spoiler from ebay and installs it on his car, how does that have an impact on your life? If that same guy calls his car an "EG" when it's obviously a Civic from the United States, where the VIN shows "EH," why does it matter? I'm not trying to be an ***, but I really don't understand the problem with people doing what they want to do.
I'm going to go look at some other threads in the EG forum on good ol' Honda-Tech.

Re: EG? (EH HatchuBacku)
hahahahahahahaha look at what i started...people immediately going on the defensive. let me get one thing straight i had no intention of offending ANYONE with my previous statements. i was simply venting my personal distaste for people who feel the need to go the extra mile to make their car "look jdm." i work in Gardena, CA and i constantly have these guys giving me looks and the such, so i was pissed when i got home and wrote on H-T.com BTW the guy with the fake wing and wheels his derelict purchase makes no impact on my life, it just bugs the hell out of me when he fronts like the wheels and wing are real
