Default If your battery is dead, will your alarm still work?

My car will not start. When I push the button for the alarm, it is very faint. Not as strong as before. My cd deck reset like it was disconnected for the battery altogether. My interior lights also are very dim. Can my alarm disable power in the cabin also? I am at work and have no way of checking the battery. I am in no position to bump start it either. What should I do? thanks.

u'll probably have to jump start it .. sorry. and no an alarm won't work if your battery is dead (unless you have a small back up battery wired to it). Electrical things need an electric current to work.^dayum beat me to it

The battery probably still have some power left in it to trigger your alarm/ interior light but it not strong enough to start the car, take the batter to a part store and test see if it dead.

alarms barely use any power, so it could still work even if your battery doesnt have enough power to start your car.

Well, I just jumped my car. After I hooked up the car battery to another, the alarm finally got enough juice to disarm and then I could start it. I hope it is only my battery that is bad. Changing an alternator is a bitch. Has anybody else changed their alternator without removing the axles?

dont know if u can without takin out the axle, but it would deff be alot easier if it were taken out.

one thing about some alarms tho, when the battery gets disconnected, some tend to want to "Go Off" once the battery is back in. so, have the remote handy. some do this, others dont.

good luck, hope its just the battery
