Albertsons & Vons - do they still accept check as a forum of payment

I need to get some groceries but I have no cash “I get paid Thursday”. Now it takes three days for a check to clear so I should be fine "have money in my account when it clears". I guess my question is do they still take personal checks as a forum of payment?

My Jewel store (Albertson's) I believe still does.

I dont think that this will work. Cause the check will be verified by 'checksys' or something and you still need to have the funds available in your account.

Like if you had $8.96 in your checking account and tried to use o lets say 1 hundred it wouldnt go through. Something like that. I'm not too sure tho.

Both will accept checks as a suitable form of payment. I always seem to get behind somebody in line that has to write checks. They can take forever

However, "floating" checks is a lot more difficult because a scanned image of a check transmitted over a network can be accepted for payment within seconds, and banks will no longer have to send traditional paper checks to collect on them.

well ralphs does i know & vons i am pretty sure, but i havn't used one since aug. when i moved away from SD.

just make sure it doesn't clear the time of purchase, here in texas they are starting this thing where the just void your check and give it back to you and the funds come out that night. (whoops that was also stated above) it usually took 1-2 days for it to clear the checksys or whatever way.

It still takes 3-5 days for a check I write at Albertsons to go through.

Well Vons is a subsidiary of Safeway, which is where I work. And to use a check at Safeway you need a Safeway Check Writing Card
