How do you reset the engine light on 2000 accord?

err the check engine light??
well its a 2000 so hook that heavy **** up to a scanner find the problem fix it and then reset the ecu or have the scanner reset it.

I believe you hold down the reset button for 10-15 seconds while the key is in the ignition but in the OFF position, then after 10-15 seconds you turn your key (finger still on reset button) to the first position for about 5 seconds and then let go of the reset button. See if that works.

I called the dealer yesterday and asked the parts department... here's what he told me. Evidently, it worked. My light isn't flashing anymore
With the car off, key off, etc... Push and hold down the trip reset button, turn the key just so the dash lights come on, keep holding the trip reset button down, the maintenance required light will flash several times and then it will go off, once the light goes off, release the trip reset button, then turn the key off. voila! |

Resetting the Maintenance Light is somewhere in our owners manual. I read it long time ago.
