It may be something under your carpet, like mildew. If you have the time/patience, I'd pull out the seats and plastic trim in the door jambs, also the rear seats and pull the carpet up to check around for the source. Even if you can't find it, You can lay down some sort of deoderizer under the carpet, while you're under there. On my friends car we spread a bunch of powder detergent to kill the odor and soak up any moisture from wet shoes, etc.

Holy ****, this reminds me of a time I had a bottle of coffee creamer in my trunk (the accord ) that broke open. I normally drive the prelude in the summer so the accord just sat there in like 90 degree weather for a month before I drove it.
You honestly could not sit in the car for 5 seconds without gagging. I had to gut the trunk and take out the back seats. I scrubbed this with soap and water about 400 times and covered them in about 8 bottles of febreeze and just left them outside for like a week. I also hid a bunch of those little sheets you put in the dryer to make your clothes smell good/soft all over in the trunk. Doesn't smell anymore |

k, went to walmart and buy 60 bux worth of odor remover...
i got the febreeze , baked soda, seat cleaner/washer, carpet washer, odor remover. i first wash it with the shampoon and scrab it , then i put baking soda all over, on the seat, on the carpet and below any spot that i can put baking soda in, then i vca the whole thing off, then last step -> febreeeze all over any possible spot i can spray in my car..... now let's just wait and see.. |

You have to actually clean up whatever's causing the odor. You can't just expect to layer other air fresheners on top of it. So you'll probably have to take out the seats and individually steam clean everything.

lol, it is not the AC or in the vent, and I don't think the pine tree air refresher
is powerful enough to overcome the odor in the car.... so far, the smell has gone down, after 3 bottles of febrezze in all the area that I supspect of the odor thats coming from, it is getting better. Spary ? nah, i just open it up and pour that **** in , so in that case, it can work better

Febreze dows work pretty well. Douse every surface of the interior with it, wait a day, repeat a few times over he course of a week. There will be an improvement.
If you can get ahold of a steam cleaner, remove the seats and go to town in addition to the Febreze.
