haha, i did that shita long time ago, i put a filter at the end where you left it open lol

EDIT:

there is a pick.. i cut the U pipe in half and i experimented with both ways (never felt a difference on the butt dyno) with a filter at the end of the U pip i cut in half, or i left it open and had a filter in the stock box (this is on my 00Si) . . . so yeah . . i'm just giving that **** away now though . .lol

but i been there done that . . the idea is koo aint it? lol

Ill probably get debated on this, but I think it does not compare to either. The noise levels are nice, and there is no low end tourque loss as I have experienced with both the Fake J's intake and the AEM CAI.

However I was never able to try a Fake J's intake with the edelbrock IM

It's all swollen because it's a home depot Piping coupler for a 3" pipe. Im pretty sure the intake pipe is 2.5" so there's alittle extra room.. I just tighted the hell out of it to make a nice seal. Home depot didnt sell 2.5" coupler

Coudlnt you ahve just used the stock intake hose, and just bought one of those replacement filters from AEM or K&N and left it like that? Or just got some piping and connected it to your stock airhose and made it look like the V2 did; with the pipe going downward? Sounds kinda dumb, but it could work...
