Good lists. I can look in the service manual today and see if P1399 is a valid code. I feel you on your misshift, been there, done that

Only a boob would mishift! Just kidding there seem to be a lot of mis-shifting stories around here. Fortunately mine (from years ago) had an uneventful ending (3rd->2nd).
I don't know what that code is, but I'm not sure it really matters. There's no code for "hole-in-piston, valve-in-oilpan".

Ok, something real close to your problems:
DTC P1336: Engine Speed (RPM) Fluctuation Sensor Intermittent Interruption
DTC P1337: Engine Speed (RPM) Fluctuation Sensor No Signal

No, wait I found it.
DTC P1399 - Hole in Piston (HP) Valve in Oil Pan (VOP)
p.s. google came up empty except for someone saying it isn't a Honda ECU code. It was seen when the engine was misfiring.

Thanks for all the info guys...im going to do a compression test in a little bit to see how it is and ill let you know the #'s but i think im gonna have to start tearing the motor apart....it runs and has power cause i had to drive it home from the track cause no tow truck would drive it but sounds like ****(the exhaust sounds like a wrx its wierd). The p1399 code came up and said pending next to it and i still cant find what it is this really sucks

Could be worse! Sounds like good news to me. Let us know how the rebuild goes.
Did you have any transmission-related mods? Short shifter? Lightened flywheel? Grippy clutch?
The one time I did mis-shift, it was on all OEM parts and had time to put the clutch in before anything really bad happened. I went from 3rd to 2nd gear.

You're not the first with a short-throw shifter to have this happen (although stock shifters do the same). What about cams (and cam timing?) I wonder if a more aggressive cam would cause damage to be more likely?
