Not a big deal since anyone can have atypical moles. Well little did I know, that it was so severe that they had another dermapathologist take a look at it. Half of the mole had severe atypia the other half was melanoma in situ. Which means it was the earliest form of cancer!. It was way less than 1mm so it had no chance of spreading. They knew about this for weeks and just told me today. So I got a wide exsicion done and now have a nice 3 inch gash on my shoulder blade.

I never felt so sick in my life when i heard those words. Luckily for me it was caught right away. They scanned the rest of my body and every mole that I have looks normal for now. I have to go back evey 6 months.
Good job on going to the Doc early. Shit is def scary as hell. Mine was pretty serious I don't remember the class, but they had to check some lymph nodes to see if it has spread or not. I have posted pics in your other thread. Did you just find out about this after getting that removed in August?

I am down to going 6 months now I was going every month then 3 for a while. Now just every 6 the dermatologist strips me down, and checks every single area I have skin. In between my toes, my sack, under my sack, everywhere. It sucks, and no she is not hot. I get a clear bill of health in July as long as nothing else comes up.

I'm pretty sure I have some sort of melanoma or skin cancer.

No insurance though so I won't find out till it's too late.

That's what you get for being white.

I had a mole removed before and it came back negative. I really need to get checked again but don't have health insurance because my part time job doesn't offer it for me. Hopefully I don't develop cancer before I'm done with school and have a real job.

Damn dude, glad they caught it early. Stay active on your derm appts, I go once a year right after my physical, as melanoma runs in my family and I'm not taking any chances.

blah, my excision came back all clear but another spot on my lower left back came back with possible melanoma. It's so serverly aytpical there calling it melanoma. It's also less than 1mm in depth so all I need is another excision. My back looks like ive been checking for landmines in Iraq with a hammer.

The onyl good news is that covers pretty much all the abnormal moles I had. I have to go back to the dermatologist every 6 months

I have tons of little black spots on my body, I have at least ten I'm worried about. Thank god after 5 years of Engineering school my current offers absolutely no health insurance so I'm pretty boned.

Sounds like you will be good to go. I have had no other spots since my original and my dermatologist said it is rare to not have more be suspect after having one like mine.

Remember Chubz, according to the douches on this site, you shouldnt be worried about the Melanoma, you should be worrying about getting a job.
