Default how to find value of old stock certificate?

My dad found an old stock certificate for 10 shares.
He got this from his old employer back in 1994.

In 2000 the company was aquired by a larger company.

- when companys merger or are aquired, don't shares split or change value?
- How do I find out the value of it?

sorry, I don't know. That's why people use the 'street name' method nowadays.

Bump for ya.

I don't want to have to pay a fee...
