Default Car Sputtering at low speeds

So I gotta 93 accord 10th anniversary edition, 218K on it

The car runs great on the highway but after about 15 miles the CEL light kicks on (code 43 fuel supply system) and I get a real bad gas smell inside.

the problem is most noticeable after shutting it off after driving it long enough to warm it up, then STARTING IT BACK UP and going speeds under 40mph.

I give it just a little gas and it will start to sputter sounding like its going to die but the RPMs stay the same and it doesn't seem like theres a loss of power. Again im smelling gas inside. But then I put more foot into giving it more gas and the thing starts running like a champ again. I just don't get it.

I don't think it can be spark as I got a brand new set of plugs, wires, ignition coil, ICU. and new manifold gasket with brand new spark plug tube o rings, so theres no oil on the plugs. Brand new WIX fuel filter as well.

there are no vaccum leaks. all the fuel lines look good. If it was a fuel pump I would be getting some stalling on the highway and a big power loss right? IM stumped.

If you smell gas then you have a leak. Find leak. Fix leak.

Good thought holmesnmanny but im pretty sure if I had a leak I would smell it all the time instead of just when I get a few miles down the road. And like I said I Looked at the few lines and I went all over under the car, no fuel on the ground or on any of the lines/tank/fuel filter/fuel rail

So you really think it's normal to be smelling raw fuel ? Considering you got a code 43 for fuel supply issue I would think it would be common sense to think there is a fuel supply issue somewhere.

Hook up a fuel pressure tester. You can get one from Harbor Freight. Turn the ignition on. Then immediately turn it off. The gauge should hold steady. If it immediately starts to bleed down you know you got a leak.

It is possible your oxygen sensor is so bad it's dumping excess fuel in.

It would actually be best to hook up the gauge before you drive it and make it do its thing. When it throws the code, safely pull over. Turn the car off and immediately check the gauge. The pressure should be atleast 30+ and again it should hold steady.

so I tested my oxygen sensor, I got .03 ohms out of the two black wires. But I also had no 12v feed on the other half of the connector so im guessing that's what the problem is.

So I guess ill have to replace the o2 sensor as well as the wireing problem.

Were you testing voltage with the ignition on ?

yes sir with the key on, without the engine running. Im really confused on what to check from here and what to do.

Also kinda worried that it's no the actual problem considering theres a code for the o2 sensor by itself I believe. and im getting a fuel supply code.

I just don't have to money for a fuel pressure guage right now. But I will be testing that sometime soon when i do get the cash.

SO I found this http://home.icequake.net/~nemesis/bl...comment-page-1

Been googling my *** off lately trying to figure this stuff out and I still hardly understand all the electrical gibberish.

I was wondering if it would hurt anything just to unplug the o2 sensor from the ECM and drive it around to verify if that's the problem. Because that ECM wire plug has been on for years and years and I cant for the life of me get the damn thing off I tried spraying it with WD-40 and using pliers and all that. I am so pissed off right now It's making my stomach ulcer come back.
