Test across that wire while wigling it. See if you loose connectiin at all... if not put shrink tubing on it...

Wait. So have the car on and wiggle that wire? I'm sure that's not what you meant haha.

Lmao. I was about to say, hold up. Lol. I need to buy myself a tool to test it out and report back.

I bought my multimeter from there! I thought resistance and continuity were two different things?

A continuity checker sends a voltage through the wire to light a light. With a digital multimeter, the resistance meter will send a voltage through the wire and display the resistance. Doing the same thing, just using two different tools. The multimeter is much more informative though. Simply, if you don't have continuity, you will have infinite or near infinite resistance (break in the wire). If you have continuity, you will have very little or next to no resistance. I think the resistance in copper wire is like 0.2 ohms per foot or two or something of the like. Might even be less. Hopefully this all makes sense to you.
Ehh. Somewhat. I appreciate all the help from you fellas. So, I take the multimeter, set to volts and just press the positive end on that wire that spliced open?

Okay, got it. I'll report back.

did you get a new oil pressure sensor in there yet?

Just checked for resistance on the wire. I tested in three spots. Right where the wire was spliced, half way point to the plug and right near the plug, it read 0.01-0.02

So, should I continue to look at the evaporative side? Purge solenoid? And all that?

That way you are reading the full length of the wire you are testing. I use alligator clips to aid holding while wiggling.
Man, I feel like an idiot. I'm not even sure if I did it right. What I did was put the positive lead on the wire and then placed the negative lead on a ground that is on the device that holds the fuel pump and sock in place. I did mention my sock was in the tank, correct? I may just go to the junkyard and get a whole new bracket and install it again. This is why I don't let anyone work on my cars. Lol

Regardless I still repaired the wire that was showing. I guess I will have to remove it again and test it out.

Tried it again and still got the same reading.

Sorry for that lol. I checked the whole thing. I sure do hope so man. Never have I been so dumbfounded about something. But I learned quite a few things from this thread though.

So I am a little under a quarter of a tank and the ***** hash't acted up. Only thing I really did was put the filter on. What exactly does the filter do? Just pick up debris or whatnot in the fuel tank?
