"Honda accord LX 2000 VTEC" "transmission slipping"
I have a honda accord 2000 LX with 4-cyl vtec engine. I have had really terrible issues with the transmission for over a year and am finally setting aside the funds to fix the problem.
The car will slip only from 1st to second. it will high rev and I have to let off the gas slow down and wait for it to kick in which will cause the whole car to jump. Also, going uphill is really terrible and the car will not accelerate. I am stopped at a light I will roll back and the transmission will get really loud and has A LOT of trouble excelerating.
A mechanic said it sounds like Solenoid C and D. Anyone familiar with this type of issue? Wondering if I should replace the whole transmission or just the solenoids. I'm wondering the price difference as well if I would just be better off replacing the whole transmission
Thanks for any help!

Is replacing 2 sets of solenoids, the one under the battery box, $ 118. new, the 2 down low behind oil cooler lines used. The top, converter lockup will remove it to clean the screen.
Hope it will fix shift problems. Fluid is clean, will still drain and refill.

Check for codes using an OBDII scanner!
P1738, which is the code for a faulty 2nd gear pressure switch, does NOT illuminate the D4 or CEL lamps.
Solenoid 'C' would be the one to check for 1-2 shift flare.
Open your hood and stand in front of the transmission/engine. Look down at the bellhousing. You will see two solenoids sharing a single plate, that is the lockup/shift solenoids, called Solenoid 'A'.
Below that there will be two more solenoids, top one will be 'B' and the solenoid below that is 'C'(#12 (P#28500-P6H-003)), check the wiring. Also check the wiring to 2nd gear pressure switch(#13).
Verify neither solenoid or switch is leaking. If the area is oily, spray on some SimpeGreen and hose down, turn the engine on and go for a quick spin, look for fresh atf leak. If there is oil leaking you will need to replace the O rings.
Pull solenoid C out. Look at the end of it, it will have a screen 'filter' on the end of it, verify that it is clean. If it is and the wiring is fine, Solenoid C may be seized. ~$30 from Rockauto.
Ideally you would have pressure gauges to check the various gear circuits are correctly pressurized.

should i be checking the wiring with a multimeter? if so what settings/ ranges should i be looking for.
thank you guys! this is all really helpful
