DIN-2 in the Civic 2004?

DIN-2 in the Civic 2004?
What's up guys. I'm new here and I just wanted to ask some stupid questions!
Well, on topic. I want to change the stereo in my Civic from a Din-1 to a Din-2. And Yes I know you have to get a special "frame" for it to fit perfect. But my question is, the little "box" that's above OR below (my case above) the stereo. (Look at the picture.)
HOW do I remove that? Anyone that has any ideas?
