D2 spring rate SOFT!!!
whats up everyone? hope all is well...
so, my crv is lowered on D2's. spring rate is ridiculously soft for my liking.
has anyone here upgraded D2 coilover springs for RD1?
if so, what spring rate? spring length? what is your crv drop? rim size?
ive heard, extreme spring rates and extended top hats would work-
i have searched, but lets face it- not everyone posts honest opinions and experiences. no names, neither...
no shady comments or info in this thread, please.
any info, would be appreciated.
thanks, guys.

Re: D2 spring rate SOFT!!!
really?
dude, i hit a bump on the road and it sets my V up and down. Feels like a boat.
it definitely needs a stiffer spring rate. i was thinking something extreme like 800-900 front.
rears maybe around 600-700...
Yea, let me know when you get a chance.
Plus, how difficult is it to change the springs on the D2. Before i order new springs i want to know what dimensions they are. 2.5 x 7? 2.5 x 8? etc, etc
thanks bro...

Re: D2 spring rate SOFT!!!
If you bounce up and down it means your shocks are blown, thus they are no longer damping the motion.
I had D2s on my Prelude a long time ago and they were also very stiff.

Re: D2 spring rate SOFT!!!
My front coils are marked 12.5-180
Rears are 11-205
And I might have to agree with hawkez....The shock itself might be blown....d2 does offer rebuild service....or you can order a new rs shock for like $130

1st batch of d2s ive tried were stiff too! may be you have your dampening dial all the way to the softest...
check it first, other than that you might have blown your suspension or theres a leak already on them...
good luck!

Re: D2 spring rate SOFT!!!
nah, brotha.
i just slapped these d2's on right out of the box.
they are brand new. less than 250 miles.
i am not even all the way slammed.
i have my dial at 28 front and 20 rear.
i swear i will be so p.o.'d if these are shot.
3 suspension setups, and finally went full coil over this time because i was over hodgepodge setups.
some have mentioned in the past that the spring rates were soft on d2's.
and now, on this post, they ride stiff?
I want to believe they should. however, mine do not.
ill lift my V later on tonight, and check for leaks.
i am pretty sure, they are not blown.
there should be no reason for them to blow so soon.
she's a daily, but my clinic is down the street. roads are smooth.
and again, i can still go lower.
they have never felt stiff, even upon install.
i had 550/350 springs up front before, with ek shocks before. rode bouncy but my shocks were blown, no doubt. rode horrible.
right now, with d2's, still bouncy, but my shocks recover bumps on the road- just boaty...
please help me out guys-

Re: D2 spring rate SOFT!!!
When you lift....make sure there is ample preload on the spring. ..The locking collars should be touching g the spring then around like another 1.5 to 2 turns tighter

Re: D2 spring rate SOFT!!!
I'm using Function and Forms on my rd1. I think I dropped it 3-3.5 inches on stocks. 12k front 6k rear. The ride is pretty decent but the rear could be stiffer. You could feel bumps but it's still comfy.
