Re: The Official EF Discussion Thread
if I downshift/upshift at high rpm and it blows a small black exhaust puff, is that bad? I had the engine rebuilt not long ago. It's happened twice, but not on any type of regular basis. Am i just blowing carbon off? I havent really pushed it in a while prior to this, just daily duty.

Lewy- IMO looks like ****, go sell it to a ricer with real rota's and continue to help the import scene fail. Pretty sure that your spoiler serves zero purpose like that.
RS- Its probably fine. Only thing I can think of is if your distributor may be advanced or retarded but I wouldn't mess with it if everything else is working.

Re: The Official EF Discussion Thread
because I haven't said anything online about it, haha
I'll be doing pics of the engine build....basically leaving car the same, just a different longblock, allowed to do a lot of weight reduction, etc
goes from 2250 w/driver legal weight to 2025. Allowed to do CF hood/lexan/cut door bars, bumper bars, move battery, etc. It'll make the car a much better track car for non-racing days, easier on consumables, and faster.
11:1 compression via decking/milling/pistons, ARP everything, head with wild radius valve job, aftermarket springs, and a custom Rocket cam. 7 lb flywheel too.

Re: The Official EF Discussion Thread
Want some quick opinions from here. I recently removed the body kit on my car (go ahead, rejoice). However, it definitely needs some paint now. Suggestions? Local paint shop sells Limco for about $300 (gallon base, gallon reducer, gallon clear, quart hardener). I know single stage is popular for those on a budget, which is definitely me.

Re: The Official EF Discussion Thread
On my cars I'm now partial to vinyl. ...because they are track cars only mostly. I have nothing to contribute. Ha

Re: The Official EF Discussion Thread
Check these guys out for paint if you want a custom color or there's a $50 paint job thread here on H-T

I've thought about TCP global. Not really into the Flatz line. I'd prefer some gloss. But I'll check it out again and compare prices. I appreciate the input.
EDIT: What about the restoration line? That's what I was looking at. Around $250 for a 2-stage set shipped iirc.
EDIT AGAIN: I see the restoration line base coat is like $120 for a gallon. That's not bad compared to the almost $200 my local shop charges. However, my local place has better clear coat pricing and I've seen magnificent reviews on it.
