Can I disable the security system on my Accord?
Frequently in the last few weeks the alarm has activated on my 2000 Accord. There is no apparent reason and it has never happened before. It goes for a day or two without happening then alarms twice in an hour.
I would like to disable the system permanently. The dealer tells me we can't disconnect the alarm system without disabling the whole car. Does anyone know of any way that I can accomplish this?
Thx,

Re: Can I disable the security system on my Accord? (vigor5spd)
Finally had a little time today to spend on this problem. Figured out that if I made the trunk switch to indicate the trunk is open the alarm will not arm. There are no lights on the dash (i.e.trunk open warning) and all systems are go. At least I can lock the car now. My question is: How is it a stupid plumber from Canerda can figure this out and my local Honda dealer (Classic Honda in Brampton) either couldn't or wouldn't let me know?

"Figured out that if I made the trunk switch to indicate the trunk is open the alarm will not arm."
Pray can someone explain how I might do that? It will be very much appreciated.
