Default Overheating issue

Alright so I noticed that when it's ridiculously hot outside and I am in one spot too long my car will overheat. I put on the heater and it cools down. I also notice that my idle goes up and down and the AC will get warm and then bam, it starts to overheat, does that often happen?

Fans work, I'm going to double check on the thermostat today.

Just wanted some other ideas from fellow members.

1991 Integra b18a1

Thanks.

bad rad cap, bad timing, stuck thermo, water pump, clog, fan, etc.

Fans are working, forgot to mention radiator and cap are new since my old one was leaking a bit from the drain plug. There really isn't a way to check the water pump right? I'll have to check on the thermostat, I want to stay both top and bottom hose get hot once it's warmed up, I'll have to double check.
