Default 2005 Honda Accord DX conflicting oyxgen sensor info

Car Specs:
2005 Honda Accord DX 2.4L DOHC non-Calif.

Hey guys,
After reading a thread on this board and another somewhere else I just need some clarification.

Targa250r (from here) says this:
If that's the case, AutoZone is wrong (not surprising, since they're in the business of selling parts, not fixing cars).

P0141 is specifically for a secondary oxygen sensor heater circuit malfunction, so if that's the code that came up, then you need to replace the secondary sensor. Codes P0137, P0138, P0139, and P0141 pertain to the secondary sensor.

If it were the primary sensor, you'd have gotten a different code (P0133, P0134, and/or P0135).
Then Fredsvt from Driveaccord forums (link to post) says:
Your car doesn't have a bank 2 sensor if it's a 4 cylinder. There are only a few 4 cylinder engines out there with 2 front sensors.

P1166 is a failure in the heater circuit for the primary sensor.

Your car uses a special wide-range air/fuel sensor, it's not a conventional oxygen sensor. I'd only use the Honda one. The aftermarket sensors are usually wired wrong. This leads to all kinds of issues.
I hate to borrow from that thread since it's about a 2001 Honda Accord LX
but is he right in general when he says 4 cylinder engines don't have a bank 2 sensor?

That's what has me confused. I went to Autozone, got the P0141 code, and am about to change the o2 sensor. The printout from AZ says to get part# 15400 of the Bosch O2 sensor for the upstream. But Targa from above says AZ is wrong and I have to change the downstream one. So what's the deal?

Btw I haven't checked the fuse yet, heard it could be a blown fuse but w/ 90,800k on the car I kinda believe it's the O2 sensor being bad.

I also found a guide on changing this from akelsall @ driveaccord.net:
http://sites.google.com/site/hondare...-oxygen-sensor

which I plan on referencing if I have to change this.

Bank 1 identifies the location of cylinder #1, while bank 2 identifies the cylinders on the opposite bank.

Only the V6 has Bank 1 and Bank 2 sensors (they have 4: Bank 1,Sensor 1, Bank 1, Sensor 2, Bank 2, Sensor 1, Bank 2 Sensor 2)

For your car (i.e., a 4 cylinder), the P0141 is for Bank 1, Sensor 2 which is the downstream O2 sensor. AZ is wrong and Targa250R is correct.

Redbull is correct, i just received that same error code P0141 and changed my O2 sensor yesterday. Pretty easy and painless, cost 65 bucks for the part and about 20 minutes under the car.

Thanks guys. That makes sense.

Also I was reading the repair guide by akelsall and it recommends disconnecting the battery cable connected to the negative terminal of the battery.

Is that really necessary? Did you do the same coloballa? And did you also disconnect the battery completely (both pos & neg) after you were done to reset the ECU? And if so, how long did you disconnect it for and did your radio become security locked afterwards?

Because after reading the owner's manual it says if the radio loses power at any time, it requires a 5 digit security code to get it working again. Which sounds like a major pain in the *** since I don't have that info (audio system code number & serial number) and don't feel like running back and forth to dealerships for this. It says on EX and EX-V6 models, but my gut tells me this affects DXs too.

Update:
I disconnected the negative and it was off for more than 30 minutes, rehooked it and the radio didn't ask for a code luckily. But the clock was reset so I had to fix that. That also cleared the CEL (Check engine light), gonna drive around and see if it stays off for good.
