Well boys I had my diff in my car for about a week, Took it out road racing and it was Surreal on the road course took 2.5 secs off my laptime with out trying, Coming from an open diff that is.

I figured tonight I'd go to the drag strip with some friends figured why not! Took it easy on the first pass, figured ok no wheel hop lets go abit higher. let the clutch out slowly at 4000rpm not just hammering it got a nasty wheel hop let off then got back on it and found My Lsd is now a Spool when I turn around at the end of the strip, OOPS.

car is an ep3 2500lbs 225 wheel.

Going to drop the tranny tmw and see whats broken in the diff,

Anyone know where I can get spare parts easily?

I'm willing to bet the Planetary Gears are broken at least one of them.

Kaaz will break the teeth off the clutch plates, leaving you a one wheel peeler...



BTW it survived 7800 rpm clutch dumps on slicks with 85 shot on a Z6....until stupid street tire groove all FWD/Imports had to run.

Well Its definitely not a one wheel peeler lol I have to fight it to make it turn lol, Not looking forward to finding out what it is, I loved the diff on the track

Sounds like it is working normally. Have you tried any friction modifier in the fluid?

No no its not working properly, it was working properly before I went to the drag strip lol I'm using Motul 300SL straight.

Just drained it and have no Metal chips or flakes in it hopefully it was a clean brake whatever it was

Which side doess it pull towards?
If it's pulling towards the right, check the passenger axle and make sure it's still in the case, if it its check to make sure the outer joint isn't binding or bound up.
If it's pulling towards the left, check the driver axle to make sure the out the joint isn't binding or bound up.

Its not Pulling to either side it fights me to go straight lol I only took the wheels off and Drive shafts out lol

So you always blame the passenger axle no matter which side it pulls to?

Factory settings so it was 100%

LOL, no that was a typo. Pull the right check the right axle. Pull to the left, check the left axle. Fixed my original post to not create any confusion or discrimination to the passenger side axle.

I would replace the entire LSD with a better unit for a little more money, especially if you're going to continue drag racing it. Kaaz/Spoon and ATS LSD's break very easily.

i have the same diff and i put the settings to 60%.. ray from kaaz was very helpful. is that who you spoke to about replacement parts?

I talked with him about 10 years ago when I exploded my Kaaz. Ended up selling it to a road racer who was gonna buy the new plates.
