Icon2 2007 Fit Code P2647 + Misfiring

I have 2007 Fit that started misfiring and the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong and cleared the light. The light came back on a few weeks later. This time they replaced the catalytic converter. The misfiring went away for a couple months, but has come back again. I took it back to the dealer and they now say its giving a Code P2647 and needs to the Rocker Arm Pressure Switch and Ignition Coils replaced and will then need to be reinspected and further diagnosed. In other words it sounds like they're clueless and want me spend over $1000 to maybe fix it.

Anybody ever had all these symptoms together?

That switch controls your VTEC engagement so if you still get VTEC no need to change the switch. If not check your oil level first thing as low oil level will cause it not to work.

The VTEC solenoid can be cleaned. It looks like a sliver 35mm metal film canister on the drivers side of the engine just forward of the plastic engine cover. Remove the connector and two bolts. scrub with carb cleaner and old toothbrush and re-install.

If they have not been done yet you need plugs, possibly some coilpacks and your valves adjusted.

My 07 Fit started having misfire problem. Having someone outside car state they smelled gas gave me the indication that it was most likely a plug or coil pack going out. Of course my mechanic stated that there was nothing wrong with the engine since they didn't find any codes but it was ENGINE MOUNTS that was causing the problem and that it "FELT JUST LIKE A MISFIRE". I pulled one of the younger techs out of the bay and had him sit in the car and tell me what he felt. Conclusion was engine. This finally got them to scope the engine and they said that both cyl 1 & 3 were showing problems and for $173 each cylinder they could fix it. They also said it wasn't a plug problem since i had replaced them at 65k (currently at 133k)
Long story short. I took the car home and found one plug almost half way out of the cylinder and the blowby had damaged the coil pack. Replaced the plugs and coil packs myself. Ordered 4-pack from Amazon for $100 including shipping. Currently looking for a new mechanic.

Good deal doing it yourself. Those mechanics were clueless.

Sorry to add into an old thread...

Starting to see Fit's coming in with misses, usually only under load; the two common culprits:
1) coil pack fucked up
2) valve adjustment out of spec (TIGHT)

Very simple change coil packs and spark plugs if they haven't been changed yet.

I have 07 fit that had same problem I put new fuel injectors , sparkplugs, and still did not fix it so I put new coil pack on it 5 months ago . So far that fixed my problem. You can get a 4 pack of coils at auto zone for $174 .
