Maybe ask something specific. Show pictures. Give a link. Your question is entirely too broad and not really relevant to a "What's it worth" thread.

Very soon I will be venturing into replacing my tie rods, upper control arms and lower ball joints. I only have around $200 to spend, in addition to getting an alignment and getting a few tires put on (used I have at my house). Here are the parts I have found:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUSPENSION-HONDA-ACURA-INTEGRA-CIVIC-DEL-SOL-CONTROL-ARM-TIE-ROD-3-YEAR-WARRANTY-/281098426896?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1993%7CMake%3AHonda&hash=item4172c59a10&vxp=mtr#ht_3099wt_916

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ball-joints-Control-Arms-tie-rod-links-Fits-Integra-94-97-Civic-92-95-Del-Sol-93-/321401248330?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1993%7CMake%3AHonda&hash=item4ad501da4a&vxp=mtr#ht_901wt_916
How can I tell what is a good part and whats not? I dont have the almost $500 to get OEM parts from the local Car Quest, so this is about my only option. Is it worth it?

All of the above is unbranded garbage. Take your chances on it if you have the guts.

As stated, I don't have very much cash to get OEM from my local auto parts store, what can I do?

So that makes it okay to put garbage on your car? The fact that's it's a daily means reliability is of the utmost importance.

Save some more money or buy one component at a time.

Is there any websites I could look to for maybe getting better pricing than an auto parts store but still get good quality parts?

Hi, all! Brand new here, though I have had my car for about two weeks.

OK! Let's get down to it. I purchased a 1995 Honda Civic EX Coupe for $1200. Has sunroof. Auto. Cruise. Engine from a 2000 with 79,000 miles on it, NO I could not verify, though the valve cover seems to have been changed and the engine runs super strong and like a dream. Beat-up exterior, HID headlights (low beams) conversion. Attempt to steal, steering column looks stolen and this attracted the attention of my local police today when I went into a store with the windows down. Lol.

I paid $1200 and it really runs super well. I even bought a column from a DX (complete with key, the DX key seems larger and different than my sporty EX key) and he says he can get the cruise on my model wired up on the DX column, which I appreciate.

Was it worth it?

Also, mine is a Canadian model...... EG or EK? (This is sort of my first Honda. My 89 CRX I had for 2 weeks 10 years ago doesnt count lol)

Pics

Default 96 Civic EX Coupe - Fix or Part Out

My son rear ended an SUV with his 96 Civic EX Coupe - we're trying to decide whether to fix or part out. It looks like, at a minimum, we would need a new hood, right headlight, hood latch, radiator and radiator hoses. Bumper and insert seem to be ok. I can probably bend the radiator support back (I've been working on it) but might need to get a new one welded in - which would probably cost more than the car is worth.

If we part it out, everything else is in decent shape. Engine and automatic transmission work fine. All glass, including the sunroof, is good. Interior ok - some small rips in the seats but everything is there. I have the air intake - just removed to work on the car so it isn't in the picture.

Just want some opinions - what would you do? The car is in Atlanta. Thanks.

Enough with this "What would Jesus do?" nonsense. It's like the third one this week. It's not a tech question for one, and secondly, it's not our car.

Your question belongs here.

Remove the hood and front bumper. Wrap a heavy strap or chain around the rad support and tie the other end around a tree. Backup until the rad support is reasonably straight. Somethings this works surprisingly well for pulling a front end back into shape.

It's going to need a hood and headlight for sure. Silver was a pretty common color for those cars, and the hood can come from any '96 - '98 Civic, hatchback and sedan included.

It's really not a great part out vehicle. It's an automatic, it's silver, it's a '96 - '98 as opposed to a '99 - '00 and the interior isn't in great shape. All of that stuff works against you.

Default EG6 TCS cluster - what is it worth??

Hey Honda Tech community,

I am just trying to gage some knowledge from the hardcore 92-95 civic enthusiast (as I am one) on what this part is worth. I have a 92 civic eg6 white face cluster with the TCS (traction control system) and the door/hatch sensor option on the cluster. The odometer reads 228570 , all is in perfect working condition. I know the regular clusters go anywhere from $150-$200 but these options on the cluster are very new to me and I have never see one forsale,

Is it worth more?
Is it more desirable?
what's it worth?

thanks HT!

It's probably worth absolutely nothing to anyone that doesn't have traction control. And nothing to someone that has it because they already have the cluster. Not desirable unless you're contemplating the theoretical TCS conversion which no one has yet to do, or even start, for that matter.
