hard clutch all of the sudden
I did a quick search on here and I haven't found this come up yet so I'll just ask....
I have a 2007 Si coupe.
I was driving today, and everything was fine. I stopped my car, got out for 5 minutes, and then got back in and started it. All of the sudden the clutch was much heavier than it was before.
The car has about 69,000; I've never replaced the clutch but I did have the third gear fix done under warranty at my dealer some time ago.
It hasn't been slipping, and even now the gears engage just fine. I checked the clutch reservoir and the fluid was right on the 'MIN' line, so I bought some fresh brake fluid and filled it up. It didn't seem to do anything.
Anyone have any experience with this or any advice? The car is still under warranty, but if this is a simple fix I'd rather just take care of it myself.
Thanks in advance for any/all help.

Re: hard clutch all of the sudden
does the pedal feel hard but presses down to the floor? or does it not press all the way down? Could be collapsed line/blockage of some sort. Have you driven it since it happened?

keep an eye on your reservoir...might have leak in your clutch lines. it could be a couple things causing your problem. could be a bad slave cylinder, leak in your lines, or something wrong with your pressure plate

^^along with that, try pumping your clutch pedal for a while and see if there is any difference, such as getting better/worse, reservoir level going down, or any visible leaks inline with the system.

Re: hard clutch all of the sudden
No the clutch goes all the way to the floor, and everything engages as it should (or so it feels/appears), but it's just harder.
siboy - definitely pumped it for a while; about to go back out and pump some more and check the level again. I drove it home which included highway and city driving and it seems fine other than the hard clutch.
pd0019 - i'm suspecting that I might have to bite the bullet and drop it at the dealership. And I'm supposed to be starting a new job this week; what a pain in the ***!
Thanks for your help guys; I'll keep you posted as to what transpires.

Re: hard clutch all of the sudden
Alright so now I was driving it to work; the clutch got super heavy and then "popped". It got super light, but all the gears still shifted and engaged just fine. I pulled over, pumped it, and now it's make to a tension that seems right. I feel like this has happened to me before in another car.

Re: hard clutch all of the sudden
When I bought my 06 si the clutch was harder than normal to push, I tried changing the slave and the clutch master with no difference.
I had to change the clutch because I have a bad left leg and I can't push down a hard pedal.
My clutch worked great grabbed nice it was a shame to take it apart, when I took it apart the clutch disc looked great I would say about 90% meat left, the pressure plate looked fine no collapsed fingers.
I would just drive it could be spring in the pressure plate popped out of place and then moved back.
There probably is a clutch in your future I picked up an oem honda Dalkin clutch kit on ebay for 135 bucks.

Re: hard clutch all of the sudden
IMO if it happens again your looking at a new clutch. if not, then you have a story for your next visit to your shop. probably like ^^ said something popped out of place and back in, just hope that damage wasn't done. good luck!
