I know I am late to the party, but if you are looking for something that actually does something this is NOT it.

Re: Race Fab/Roll cages
Here is a picture of your barest of minimum roll bars.
As you can see once the rollbar is bolted to the vehicle a triangle is formed with the car being the bottom leg. Here the rollbar is protected from forward and backwards collapse by the rear tubes. Notice the tubes are straight, no bends. In the one previously posted, the rear tubes come horizontally off the main hoop, then bend down to the floor. There is no triangulation at all, and just like the 4 legs of a table, it would support straight down pressure, but any side pressure would cause an easy collapse.
The reason I called it the barest of minimum, is there is no lateral support if for instance the car was to roll over. This design is IMHO all show and no go offering only a small margin of additional protection. I am still not quite happy with it, and am planning on redoing it over the winter.
Here we have a better answer providing some actual roll over protection
Here we have a cross brace and a horizontal brace to keep the main hoop from collapsing in a sideways roll over. It also has the ability to attach seat belt shoulder harnesses.
Notice the tube for the harness is the same size as the rest of the cage. In the one in the previous post, the harness bar was about 1 inch tubing. Not enough to make me feel safe. Notice also it still has the straight rear down tubes.
While plenty for occasional track use, as you push it, you may find you want the additional protection of a cage road race style cage. And here is an example of this
This is the vary cage in my car, but with an additional door bar on the drivers side as required by the rules.

Re: Race Fab/Roll cages
please read NASA and SCCA rules books....that car would be laughed out of tech if it showed up with that cage....
safe....well rear down pipes have bends in them....that means the cage is going to fold....possibly on the drivers head!!
yes it is possbile for a cage to fold but the longer the tubes in the rear more likely it is going to fold over to the front onto the driver passenger....
read sfi rules or fia.....
i don't understand why drag racing allows those bends but i would not race car with rear bends in the down tubes!!

magically a cage built to NASA/SCCA/FIA standards will be lighter and rated for a higher "drag race time" by the NHRA... but they still dont build them this way.

Re: Race Fab/Roll cages
Good info, that cage and car was supposed to be a drag only car and the guy who build it has certifications in CT done at his shop. Kind of disappointed to hear it was a junk cage.

Find an installer familiar with the rules before you pay for something that is unsafe or will have to be redone if you want to pass tech.

Re: Race Fab/Roll cages
HFR Fabrication in Manchester, MD. Does most of the Mid-Atlantic 10.5 Outlaw and Promod cars...
Did my cage (top pic). I plan to add the front half in the next few months. Up in the air about FIA door bars or NASCAR style. Also gonna move the harness bar up a few inches. Any info or suggestions are welcome!
bottom car is another 'cage' he's done. lol
