Hey guys. I've been doing a bit of research and I'm going to do a retrofit here pretty soon. I just had a quick question. I've done some searching and I haven't come up with much but I feel as though I may already know the answer.

In an Integra, because the high beam and low beam bulbs are separate, what are you guys doing about the High beams? Are you just retrofitting the low beams with an HID projector and then leaving the high beams stock? Is there a way to mount a bi-xenon projector, like say an FX-R, into the headlights and wire it up to function properly like stock?

In short, what are you guys doing about your high beams on Integra setups? Any info is appreciated.

you really don't need a projector on that side.. you would keep it stock.. adding another projector there doesn't really help output.. you can put an fx-r projector on the low beam side and just tap the bixenon solenoid to the high beam wiring.. then you have a halogen high and hid high beam

Hey thanks for the response. That's exactly what I was wondering actually, if I could run a bi-xenon in the low beam housing and tap it to be a high beam combined with the halogen high beam. Just so I'm understanding you correctly, is it really as simple as tapping a wire from the high beam 12v source to the HID bi-xenon? Would this cause either the Halogen to be dimmer at all, splitting the power between the two? Thanks for the help.

no it wouldn't cause it to become dimmer.. its still going to give out 12v to both sources..

Look at the pics in my original post of the thread. Shows my bixenon projectors on high beam function, in combination with the stock halogen high beams. Light for dayssss.

I figured that would be the case, but I was second guessing myself. Thanks for your help. I'm 95% sure I'm going to go with the FR-R setup.

Thanks Patrick. You're setup looks really nice, and I'm pretty sure that's how I'm going to set mine up.

Here's my setup nothing too flashy. Don't mind the cutoff pics they were before I had everything dialed in, I was just really excited to see the cutoff lol. Been on this setup for probably 5 months now and it's great. Super easy install, the performance is pretty impressive for the price and ease of installation. All my friends love the color flicker as well. I still need to get the high beam splitter harness though, I'm really missing out on the bixenon feature of the 6.0s.

Morimoto Mini H1 6.0s
Morimoto 35w ballasts

Looking for a setup for a 96 civic. If anyone has one or knows of one for sale please let me know. If none are for sale what setups would you recommend? I don't think I'd be capable of doing this without your help.

Well almost a month later I finally finished my Prelude retrofit.

Here is a shot on the car.

Outside view from the front, and yes they are lame cell pics, the wife has our better camera in Brazil right now.

Cutoff pic, this was in a fairly bright parking lot, and starting to rain/ snow, but I am fairly happy with it.

How the car looks from the front, I think it is about time to get the Seibon hood back on for the summer!

Longshot but I know a lot of sites have discounts for auto forums. I'm retrofitting my crappy ebay housings for Morimoto Mini H1 6.0's with Bi-Xenon H4 bulbs in 6K. My only question is....

anybody got a discount code for theretrofitsource.com?

P.S. Yes I know I need to file the H4 adapter for alignment to be correct.

Buy some housings and a kit and send it to me with $20 bucks. Gimme two days and they'll be OTW back. OR just bite the bullet and get some ebay housings and Morimoto Mini H1's and slap em together, couldn't be easier! LOL.

For SRS doe, I'd do it if ya wanted. Gonna post mine up as soon as I get these projectors in havent done one in a while should be fun.

******* USPS is KILLING me! I ordered my projectors on 5-16 and decided to upgrade bulbs and went to the XB35 on the 19th... I got my bulbs fine. My projectors went back and forth between Atlanta and Baltimore, I **** you not, 5 TIMES!! Here we are a month later and they're sitting in the Atlanta post office waiting for TRS to come pick em up because they tried to deliver it back to them on a Saturday and they were closed. **** MY LIFE, I just want my projectors!

just wondering. do the ebay clear lense headlights lenses fit over the stock headlamps on a 92-95 civic. I have my retro in a set of ebay clear lenses now and the adjuster have stripped out on me. I ordered some stock aftermarket lights from depo since the adjusting mechanism on those is external but don't really feel like using the fluted lenses and destroying my nice blue cutoff.
anyone have experience with this?

Got some DDM Tuning Retrofitting projectors Installed on my 2000 Honda civic.

Haven't had a single problem with them. Make sure to check out DDM Tuning if your looking to install some projectors they have top quality products.

TnC... Your source for high quality headlight retrofit, and custom car audio ? Defiant Custom Rides in Cary is the only retro shop in NC that I'm aware of. They are not across the street from Jacksonville, but it's fairly close to you.

I did it. I finally made the switch. Couldn't be happier! Bi-xenons, but still have it wired so that the halogen highbeams fire along with the shield dropping.
