not "bangin" gears under load though it was on a dyno pak which aren't friendly to drivetrain anyway....but the stock trans was under the same load on the same dyno with the same tuner, 3 hard sessions later, still running strong on torco RTF....but run what you want some people have different experiences with different fluids that was just my .02 on what fluid to run and my so far success with RTF... if she ***** out again I'll def let you guys know

heat is what broke my gear...RTF reduces gear box temperatures and helps with high load, high torque, and high speed applications...like I said run what you want to, this is my fluid of choice for now and what I will run in my face plated trans

Well I said I'd give you update...car came off the dyno last night no issues with the trans on Torco RTF...shifted nicely and held up to the power...run what you want to personally I'm sticking with this, yeah it might be more expensive than the Honda MTF but what's the price on a trans rebuild

Run Honda MTF on a 400+ wtq, straight cut gear set and see what happens in a hurry to the tooth faces. I assure you the Honda fluid (and several others) does not protect against the sliding action of those gear teeth.

While I know very little about that gentleman's setup and his transmission's history, you should be verey careful about that statement you just made. Fluid may not weaken a material in and of itself, but it does guard that material by providing cushion in the form of shock additives, ZDDP content, and friction reduction. All of which play a part in a tooth's lifespan.

he said his gear broke on the dyno, meaning there was no shock load applied to the gear. unless he shifted gears during the pull...unlikely, hence the "banging gears" statement.

true no shock load was applied but a load was applied due it just being on the pak...the fluid creates a nice cushion between the main and counter shaft gear stacks...along with helping to lower the trans temp as a whole is why it is better overall than MTF, but i understand what you mean and hope now it will help when it comes time to shift going down the 1320...fingers crossed

Dynapak will load gears plenty hard enough, no shock needed to break gears. Honda oem mtf is junk, any of the torcos or redline fluids should work fine.

Using Relight lightweight shockproof and it's working great 10krpm wide open throttle shifts

running torco rtf here as well. the stuff doesn't seem that ridiculously thick. shifts perfect once its warmed up a little. I'll pay the extra for the added assurance and peace of mind
