For the most part, avoid those kits. The water pumps are garbage, the timing belts are crap, and it's all generally knock-off garbage that will fail quickly. Use OEM parts, and you'll easily get another 150k out of the car.

Wondering if all of this is worth what I paid!?

They have all seals and trim pieces for windshield and both driver and passenger windows. Along with the rubber seals for the doors and hood. Wiper cowl, front fender splash shields with all the clips and everything to put it together. Included is a 1 piece SIR spoiler...

Just got it for $700 USD

I have been trying to find a civic 5 speed for a while that doesn't cost an arm and a leg where I live because almost every honda is overpriced.

I'm trying to find one without rust and is sound mechanically. I found one but it is a bit rough cosmetically. I was wondering if it was worth the price and if I wanted to fix the body damage how much would something like that cost? Thanks.

1997 Honda Civic LX
5 speed
157k
$2295

Default Is this 2000 civic SI worth buying?

Well I like the fact that this car sells for cheap price and is clean. However the owner is selling it cheap because it need paint and 3rd gear grind on tranny. I don't care about the paint problem but the tranny. The car is $4500. I don't know much about cars and this will be my first stick shift too. How do you fix the 3rd gear grind and what's the cost? I post in a different website and people are saying it's not a good buy because it will cost $2000 to rebuild the transmission.

There's a value sticky. Don't post value stuff outside of it.

The 3rd gear grind can be fixed usually with shifter bushings.

Is this 2000 Civic SI a good buy or not?
First off i like the fact that the car is cleanly modified. Even comes with a nice set of white rims. Car is selling for $4500 with all these nice mods but it needs paint and 3rd gear grind. I don't really care about the paint but the tranny concerns me that is why he's selling for cheap. How much will it cost to fix? Give me an estimate. I don't know much about cars and this will be my first stick shift.

"Break even on investment" isn't how it works. You sell a modified car, you're going to lose money. A salvage title, too? **** that. You've have to fight me to pay more than $3500 for it.

I'd be worried about the salvaged title.

Looking for a good set of adjustable rear endlinks for my EM1. Car has been dropped 1.5 - 2 in if that matters. I've busted thru 3 sets now and I just want to get something decent.

Wait this thing is salvaged? F-that. Offer $2k and leave it at that. No Civic is worth more than $2k with a salvage title unless it's the current model.

I will never understand the allure of that chassis, especially for a street car. Getting through emissions is a nightmare in most places for OBD2 cars with mods.

No, we're saying it's worth $3500 AT MOST. It's not worth $3500.

i doubt he will sell his Civic SI for that cheap but I'll go test drive the car anyway. There's a lot of 2000 Civic SI going for around $5000 range so $3500 is going to be hard to lowball. Yea but I'll use the salvage title and transmission problem to help lower

HMO wants $4500 for basically the same thing, with a start up and sensor warranty, so if he's willing to guarantee the sensors and start up, then his price is perfectly reasonable.

More likely it's a stock Si, and the seller wants to get extra $$$$ out of the car. Who would go through the cost of swapping a JDM B series and put the B16 back in for 10HP?

My opinion of the Si's is that it's still just an EK with B-series. $3k is about all I would pay for it. Other's may have a different opinion, but having a B series doesn't add $2k to the value for me.

Not worth $5000..... The rims with tires I'd say 700... And it look stock and drop isn't all that to be excited about.. Honestly I'd say 3500 or a tad over... I can get a 06 with fixable damage for about the same.

If it has a JDM B16A then he has no idea of mileage...he says it has about 100k. I fkn hate that.

Yea owner made up a story that previous owner said it's 90,000 miles then current owner bought it and put 15,000 on it. But I'm not going to bother with that junk. He's overpricing.
