Can't speak for a basket, but my rack with fairing and two bike rails cost me about 30 miles/tank when I still had the y7. I only mount it when I need it now, so I don't know how it affects mpg with the b20. I'm confident the basket is worse though.

i dont use it super often, but i use it for taking stuff to cookouts or drive-in movies and things of that nature. i bought it like 4 years ago mainly because i got it for such a bargain.

as for MPG damage, i havent really noticed a difference the only thing i have noticed is how loud the damn thing is on the highway i had it on the red eg in the picture before it was totaled, and i still got about 30mpg mixed in it

heres my FA with Yakima rack, it gets used, don't mind my cheap bikes, I have too many hobbies and not enough paycheck to afford top of the line toys lol
















as you can see my rack gets used and abused, id love to get the qclips for the teggy, but I don't want to spend the money on the stetch kit too, I really want a basket, it would come in handy for sure

you don't necessarily need the stretch kit, but it's better with it.

hahaha ya, i spent about 8 months looking for a lowish mile one that was super clean. have since put a lift on it and bigger tires. get all kinds of compliments on the color

I came across one that was a 5 speed with 130k for $4500. original motor was blown but had already been replaced by the dealer with records, I passed it up like an idiot lol.

ya that wasn't the best move lol. i bought mine in September. 147k and an auto for $4k. dealer was a customer of mine when i worked for Advance Auto so he cut me a deal. wanted a manual but was tired of looking for the color in general with under 150k

I got mine a few months ago for $150, with fairing. At first I got it for looks, but then it came in handy a couple times when I had to help a friend move.

The fairing kept flapping in the wind, so I made some brackets and used a big *** magnet to hold it down:


Finally got the fairing to work proper!


If anyone knows where I can get Saris roof rack parts, please let me know, as I can only find hitch and trunk mounted stuff from them. If I can't find parts, I'm certainly willing to either make my own or find compatible stuff from Yakima or Thule.

Saris discontinued production of their roof rack line years ago. You may be able to snag some of the components you need by contacting them directly. They've got a headquarters out here in Madison.

Thanks for the info, now at least I know for sure. I'll probably end up fabricating half the stuff I need for it anyway. It may seen weird on a civic, but first I'll do a roof basket with 4 little "flood lights," then I'll finish my integra front brakes swap, then when I get my tax return next year, a skybox (finally!)

I used the q11 for my integras for 6 years. Definitely what Yakima suggested.

Just trying to save you time and money. Good luck finding them.
