03 Civic SI wants to die after a full gas fillup?
I'm going to look at an 03 Civic SI tomorrow. The guy is saying that the engine wants to stall if he does a full fill up. He says that he needs to rev it to 1500 RPM for about 30 seconds and the problem stops until the next fill up.
He's claiming that the EVAP vent shut valve is out and that's why it's doing that. Said something about Honda having a TSB for this issue.
The problem is, I did a few searches and there's very little info about this exact issue. He also has some cheap intake on it so maybe there's some lines that he didn't hook up.
Anyways what's interesting is that it only happens after a fill up and it runs perfect all other times. I will be taking a good look at it tomorrow but just wanted to know what you guys thought.

Re: 03 Civic SI wants to die after a full gas fillup?
I'm having this problem as of recent on my 02 ep3, It has thrown me a code a few times, P1457 which is an evap leak and as the same problem you're having, little to no information, I'm pretty sure he is correct with the vent valve being the issue as that is what I am coming to the conclusion to as well, curious as to if anyone has found the real solution to this as I've been too busy to take a good look at my car.

I have the same issue on my 02 ep, it only happens after I fill up with less than half a tank of gas, I have replaced the canister shut valve and the the canister itself. The problem is still present, I haven't had time to hook up a smoke machine to it. not too sure what it is. Mine does not required the throttle to be pressed to roll over, it just cranks for 15 seconds or so and fires up. I might have to look into that tsb. If there even is one.
