So I basically just did as you do, but down the road it'd be faster to be in 3rd out of that particular turn. I'll practice blipping the throttle but it's a work in progress.

OP. Any updates over the last month or so?
in the sebring vid, at the hairpin I'm coming down from 4th to 2nd. I pull it out of 4th gear while braking, then just before turn in I click it into 2nd gear.
I am trying to think where I have had to go from 5th to 3rd, but cant remember off hand...
but would think it is the same as 4th to 2nd.
Maybe some are overthinking it, or maybe I'm just an idiot, ha

here is vid from couple weekends ago at roebling...

it was my first time there, and in a car that I absolutely could not wad up into a little ball...so there was plenty of cushion left on the table...and there weren't any instances where I had to go from 5th to 3rd.
although, there are two points on track where I'm shifting from 4th to 3rd while the car is turning...
but despite no throttle blipping, the car's attitude was not upset, no gear grinding, no mashing the transmission...just "snick" and off I go

didn't want to start a new thread...and this one popped up on my search...

I want to spacer out my steering wheel about 2 or 3 inches.

what have you guys used that works, but doesn't break the bank?

I have a momo corsa wheel with no quick release.

thx

Steering wheel spacer? It just bolts onto the hub.

yes it does
the question is, where did you get it, price, and no issues?

That's not my picture, but there are Ebay ones for $30-40. It's a chunk of metal, who cares if it's not (insert brand name here). If it was a QR or hub i'd be more concerned about who made it and quality.

What I did when I had a wheel setup was just put a long QR on my Momo hub and it gave me those three inches and a quick release in one. It was NRG V2 and it never broke on me and I was pretty hard on it. I would never get a $30 eBay QR though i've seen some "incidents".

I'm actually having a hard time finding cheap ones on ebay, which is why I did a search on here...
I see 30 mm spacers that are cheap, but nothing that is 2 or 3 inches...except for the ASR that I mentioned before.
I don't really plan to ever turn this car into a race car, so not sure I need to spend the 90 bucks for a nrg v2 release...

which is why I asked about the one in the picture...
I tried several different searches on ebay, and kept coming up with stuff like this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/WORKS-BELL-30MM-STEERING-WHEEL-HUB-SPACER-KIT-ADAPTER-ALUMINUM-UNIVERSAL-BLACK-/181130345853?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a2c35bd7d&vxp=mtr
I just didn't think 30 mm was enough...

ah well...I will try searching some more

Here you go man:

All kinds of different sizes. Looks like 2.5" is cheap for whatever reason, would be like $45 shipped.

I must have been typing in the wrong search words or something...
now to decide on how much spacing I need/want...

but thanks, and I hate to be one of those guys who cannot search for themselves...
really appreciate it.

No problem, glad to help. Don't worry, it took me a little playing with search terms and flipping through pages to find that.

Oh, the irony of those statements back to back. :p

Personally, I'm size 10 shoe and 6'0". I'm the opposite of the OP, and I LOVED my EG's pedal placement. It just worked with what I would do. Hate the 1999 Si I just picked up though. But practice is certainly helping it. If I'm still not satisfied after some more practice, I'll probably look to be swapping DC2 or EG pedals over to it.

I have no idea if this is why I always caught people under braking or if it was something else...but pretty much no one outbroke me, and I think it might be because I wasn't heel and toeing, but instead was pressing the crap out of the brake pedal right up till turn in....

And that is a large part of the reason I don't heel toe. I have never been able to manage the threashold braking aspect AND blip the throttle. I can do it when I am running maybe 80%, but at 99.99999% braking, I just can't do it. So I gave up...
