Odd request, need 09+ rear view measurements
Just mainly need the length of the "post" (for lack of better terms). The piece in between the actual mirror body, and the windshield mount. Just want to figure that out before I buy one, it's not going in a Fit. Thanks in advance.

There is no "post". The windshield is so steeply slanted that the mirror mount is simply a rubber "socket" that is glued to the glass. A solid connector piece sticks straight out of the back of the plastic mirror shell.
The distance from the back of the mirror shell to the inside of the windshield glass depends on where you measure from- the top of the mirror or the bottom, and those distances will depend entirely on how you have the mirror adjusted to suit your own line of sight. If you want to call the connector on the back of the mirror a "post", there is so little space that measuring the length is not possible without removing the mirror. My guess is that the connector is 1" or less.
The above describes a 2009 Fit. Later models may differ in mirror mounts, but that is doubtful (they are probably all the same).

I think I see what's wrong. There is a few pics of a different style mirror in the Google image results. Must be a civic or something. But what looks to be the fit mirror should work even better for me. Sorry for the confusion, gotta love inaccurate search results. Thanks for the response though.
