I don't know the best one there is. My OEM original went bad a little past 200K miles and I replaced it with a random technology cat, its high flow. Haven't had any issues with it. Not sure if I'll pass Northern VA emissions, but I'll see in a few months when I move.

Renault or SMSP are no question the best high flow cats available for the ITR. Keep in mind you pay what you get for. Both aren't cheap, but extremely high quality and high flow which is what you are after.

It is spring so most race shops are preoccupied with work from teams. I'm not saying your situation isn't important, but consumers are a lower priority when compared with race teams that offer regular business. HyTech and SMSP are not the quickest options, so if you are in a rush a local shop might be your best bet.

Op what you could is get a straight pipe/test pipe (omni or alike) and weld the factory heat shield around it to give the look of a cat. My buddy had this done on his boosted em1 and it passed Va emissions and visual

T1R offers one thru aj racing called a "racing converter" but they don't come with an 02 bung from the looks of it. Has both usdm and jdm lengths available.

I know that California Catalysts are now serialized. I remember paying 200+ close to 300 installed for an OBD1 GSR replacement catalyst, this was about 4-5 years ago. I don't know if this is old pricing, but it seems really reasonable to me, especially if it will pass emmisions. ( Probably wouldn't pass visual here in California though)

Re: Best High Flow Cat for ITR?
I have a magnaflow high flow cat on my integra in cali and it passed smog and has been running fine, I'm an h22 guy and know they burn oil early and if tunes and ran on OEM pistons/sleeves you will eventually get blow by for numerous of reasons. A cat just doesn't burn out, it's caused by to rich of tune if tuned or oil burning.
