97 accord no start, got fuel, fire
Hello all,
I have a 97 accord with a no start condition. Cranks good, got good fire (tested with timing light) got fuel, (pump runs 2 secs goes off, pulled injectors cranked engine, has strong delivery) compression tested good. timing is correct no broken or slipped belt. the only time it has started is when I was testing injectors and some gas leaked into the injector ports? I have tested the ecu with another one same result.

Any back ground info? Or did the car just die one day and here you are?
And just know this...the fact that you say "gas spilled" into the intake and it started.....humm what happens if you spray carb cleaner into the intake/tb - open the butterfly.

Re: 97 accord no start, got fuel, fire
the car did die while driving, just lost power and shut off. Had it towed to honda, they had it 2 days and couldn't find anything wrong, had fuel and fire, belt hadn't slipped. they suggested replacing ecu as a possibilty at 1000 plus. I did spray carb cleaner/starting fluid and gas into intake, still nothing. plugs were completely gas fouled, pulled injectors and it fired off while I was checking them. this is a repeatable process, I have even crimped the fuel supply line line with the injectors installed and as long as the fuel is restricted I can get it to start and run.I thik I am getting too much fuel from the start. I have tested the regulator to see if fuel was passing thru to the vacuum side and it is not. I have a pressure tester but the 97 has no service port. Any ideas? What controls fuel delivery on start up? is it a program written in to the computer or does it use info from sensors and if it does which ones?
I did try a different ecu, same result.
