Will a sir ecu work on a vti engine?

Default Will a sir ecu work on a vti engine?

I have a 98 1.6 vti honda civic coupe. Im just wondering if i pluged out the vti ecu would a sir ecu work without any problem?

Let's talk more about which motor is under the hood rather than model. Also obd2/2a etc.

If you are talking about the B16A VTI then yes it will run, but not without issues.. The parameters are a bit different such as timing, fuel maps, vtec engagement, rev limiter, etc.. But it will start and drive if that's all you need it to do.. I'd suggest just chip/tune the EDM P30 or buy one for your specific setup to match the more aggressive parameters if that's what you're after..
