Default universal flywheel holder?

I'm doing the clutch on the crx this weekend, and also pulling the flywheel.
I can use the impact pneumatic to get the flywheel bolts off, but to get them on, I'm thinking the impact isnt the way to go, lol

Is there a universal flywheel tool that works on "most" vehicles?

I hate to buy a tool for something on the crx that I may not do again for 10 yrs...
And, I have other vehicles, even tractors, that I would like for the tool to work on...

anyone with experience with this?

thx

Yup, you hold the flywheel with one hand while you thread the bolts in by hand. You finish off the install by using a torque wrench to tighten said bolts. Jk, 80 lbs is a lot. I usually just have someone hold the crank bolt with a ratchet.

you can do something like this, to hold the flywheel in place. it's a free tool, that you have already.

if you look, all you need is to hand tighten the flywheel on. use a wrench with box ends on both sides. bolt the one end of the wrench to the fly wheel using one of the bolts from the pressure plate. the other bolt comes from the one that mounts up your tranny. after that, torque the flywheel bolts to spec.

Yep, that always works well for virtually any car. It's what I do on my Maxima's (click for full size):

I also made an actual little tool a few years back. This is great for the clutch to flywheel tightening:

And just so this isn't lacking Honda-ness. Here's a homemade Honda bitch-pin remover :p

I always just put two of the pressure plate bolts back in, then put a small pry bar between the two bolts to hold the flywheel in place. You can also use a pry bar at the bottom of the block to hold the pry bar against a flywheel tooth. I never had any issues any way I have done it. I do recommend a good lub on the bolts to get them out, but that is about it.

This post is old, but that wrench trick is OG legit! Jeez! Can't believe my ghetto engineering didn't come up with that.
