replaced battery, lost radio code, civic 06-11
So i replaced the battery on my 08 civic si w/ nav. Now its asking me for radio code. Only problem is that i bought the car used so obviously that info is unobtainable. So i went to the dealer with my reg and hey told me they cant give me my code unless i get the i.d. off my radio. So they instructed me to turn off the radio put the car on the on position an hold 1 and 6. Since i have nav the serial number didnt come up. So they say i need to take it to service so they can disassemble my dash to look at the back of my radio to get yhe serial number. I honestly feel like thats crock of shhiiettt to extort money from me unnecessarily.
What can i do to get my code guys? Please help me out gurus.

go to a different honda dealer i used to work all they have to do is look up the vin. Im not sure if this will also work but open the glove box and check the sides of it there might be a sticker that has the vin number. I seen it on a couple of TL's but not sure if they would do the same thing to the civic hope that helps

You will need to pull the HU and get the serial number, the code is for the HU, the VIN will not help.
"I honestly feel like thats crock of shhiiettt to extort money from me unnecessarily" well that is a crock, why would it unnecessary to charge you for work performed, do it yourself and it will cost you nothing but some time...
This should help... http://www.metraonline.com/part/99-7871 should not take you more then 1/2 an hour or so.
Now if they want to charge you for the code itself, that would be a "crock of shhiiettt" it takes them les then 30 sec. to look it up once they have the S/N. 94
