Default resurface head

okay guys I have a resurfaced head and block but I have taken the head off about 4 times (and torqued down) and put about 30 miles at the most on the motor. I'm about to put a new HG because the one in there is leaking. Do you guys think I will need to resurface the head or should I be good?

No need to resurface the head.

If you blew 4 headgaskets in the last 30 miles, I think you should at least have it checked. Something obviously isn't right...

Wow. Unfortunately that seems as though there was lot of effort that was rather wasted

Practice makes perfect!

If the head and block have been milled, make sure your dowel pins aren't keeping those corners of the head from seating all the way (can cause oil leaks)...
Check them to see if they need milled down too...

put a precision straightedge on it and see what feeler gauges can go under it if any. I think factory manual says .002" is max warpage. but if there is any warpage, I just get it decked anyways.

I dont have a straightedge or the money to buy it right now... I will eventually check it when I get the money...

BTW... how do heads lose their straightness??? is it once is torqued down, or if it over heats or the miles or what.... because even though I am not sure... after 40 miles it doesn't sound like alot of miles for it to need a resurfacing or does it because it has been torqued 4 times or what?
