OBD2 port not working
I put a b16a jdm engine into my 97 civic ex. I want to get it bar'dm but my obd port isn't working. Can it be that that I have a jdm ecu? (p2t).
That is the only thing holding me back....
any help is appreciated! ( and yes i am a noob, trying to learn!)

Re: OBD2 port not working
switching ecu's will not do much both usdm b16 makes similar power to the jdm b16. the jdm ecu redline is 8200 vs usdm 8000 and vtec engagement for the jdm is 5800 and usdm is 5600. just little ecu tweaks are the differance. the jdm motor just has a slight bump in compression over the usdm b16. 10:6 vs 10:2

Re: OBD2 port not working
Jdm ecus do not communicate with usdm scan tools that is the reason behind your issue. Also since you are trying to bar your car, try to find a 96-97 p30 from a 96-97 del sol dohc vtec. The bar techs wont take kindly to jumper harnesses and the wrong ecu.
