D.I.Y Easy tool to remove air in coolant system
So I just did my engine swap and sure enough I had an air pocket in the cooling system not allowing the thermostat to open so the engine was over heating. I rented a tool from Honda and I made a video on how to use it. Very helpful

Nice. What you wanna do however, is once you finish vacuuming the system, make sure both valves are closed and leave it that way for about 5 mins or so. This is to check the integrity of your cooling system and check for leaks. You should have less than a 1 psi drop after 5 mins. If it drops more you know you have a leak somewhere.

true and good point!
I also just use a pressure tester when I'm looking for leaks specifically.

Kind of an old post, but whatever happened to just taking your radiator cap off while the car is cool and let it warm up while you fill it??

Or you can just get a Matco or SnapOn Bleeder bowl fill the coolant let the car run and push the air out and plug it and not make a mess with coolant.
All of this which can be done by the time you drive to the Honda dealer, do it, and then return the tool.

We have one of those at the shop, but i used to have this funnel that had different adapters that fit down inside the neck of the inlet. You fill the funnel with coolant and just let the car run. As it runs all the air works its way out and the coolant just flows in. Cheaper way if you don't have a place that will let you rent such equipment.
