Got the Autozone Honda Harmonic Holder tonight. Got the 24" breaker bar in place. Got the front end up high enough to get a good angle and pulled. Heard a nice loud crack.
The only good thing about Sears is Craftsman tools. So, before I break another tool, on a 95 V6, does the crank pulley nut loosen in the counter clockwise direction?

keep in mind, the Civic has a different torque than the Accord. In the Civic, IIRC, you torque it to something like 80 ft/lbs then turn the bolt another 90* or whatever, it's been a while since I did a timing belt on the Civic. So it may not be torqued to the same amount as the Accord is which is 181 ft/lbs.
either way, I still would advise doing it that way, but to each their own I guess...

Broke a socket.
Are we sure the V6 is counter clockwise to remove the crank shaft pulley bolt?
Tried heating it. No luck. Put some WD40 on, letting soak while I have another coffee. I have the engine mount removed to get the belts off and I'm lifting the engine as I try and break the bolt free. I guess I'll put the mount back on and try again.

yeah this happens quite often with craftsman extensions. even in the dealerships we use craftsman for this job because they are easily replaceable. dont give up. this happens

I need some magic here. The pulley holder has bent. The inside of the pulley has chipped from the stress. Explain the heating process again.

i have never seen a pulley chip like it sounds here. the tool i believe may have bent if it was poor quality. i'm not callin you a liar but i'm wondering if youre using the tools correctly. damn youre in a mess LOL

I was thinking the same thing, I must be doing something wrong.
The motor has 200K miles, the pulley has never been removed.
Photos in my album.
I'm being careful to keep the holder in completely.
I have support on lng extension to keep it square or inline with the bolt.
I think I broke the sockets because I wasn't staying square.
I'm wondering if my breaker bar is flexing too much. It flexes several inches.
If you look at the photo of the pulley, the chip is at about 10:00.

fastest and cheapest pull a spark plug out and use strong rope, feed the rope into the cylinder and turn it over by hand till the cylinder is filled up and doesn't turn

Breaker bar flexing too much? Nahh. When I was removing the crank pulley bolt on a GM car, I had two 10 inch long 1/2 inch extensions, properly supported, breaker bar with a cheater pipe, and the whole thing flexed about 45 deg. I didn't break anything though.

The way i got my crank pulley bolt off on my 93 honda civic ex is, putting the transmission in fourth gear and put a jack stand under my car with the wheel off. Then with the car jack i moved my seat all the way forward and jacked the jack to where i was able to push the brake pedal in all the way. I used an 18" breaker bar and a 12" and "6 extension with a 19mm socket. The crank pulley bolt came off with minimal effort and no special tools.

How much high do you think would be suffice enough to replace the whole timing belt on Honda Accord 1994 EX F22b1 like 1-2 ft above from ground or more????
Another quick question do you still need the crank pulley holding tool for tightening the crank pulley bolt in clock wise direction along with extension and wrench????

with long extensions you will get a lot of flex. I probably got 30 degrees or so of flex out of my 20" long 1/2" drive extension.
personally, with how hard that bolt is to remove, I'd rather deal with the flex from the long extension so that I have room for a long cheater pipe rather than using a shorter extension on trying to remove it from under the car. Now if you have access to a lift then thats another story, but I'm working with jack stands.

Eliminated the breaker bar flex by changing my set up. BOOM! Broke the bolt free.
I feel I should change the crankshaft oil seal, any issues to watch for doing that?
Now on to changing the water pump.
