Default how to reset maintenance light on 98 crv

I just picked up a black 98 crv today with 112,000 on it for my mom. The light is on and I'm not sure how to reset it. I have a 94 integra so it's easy just push a button under the dash.

Did that already. Doesn't the key have to be in a certain position? I tried all positions and held it in for a few seconds. Light is still on.

I have a 99 si and a 99 crv, they both have a green square that turns yellow then red. its just like resetting the odometer trip button, I just use the car key to push in the slot and it turns green again. The key doesn't have to even be in the ignition

EK cluster is pretty much the same, put your ignition key in this slot:

Yeah I did that. It might be off. When driving I don't see it. When driving with the lights on it's orange but nothing with lights off. I'll figure it all out lol. Gotta pull the fricken radio cause last owner replaced battery. He took the car on trade so he doesn't know the code. Oh well I'll get it. Was 4,500 a good price for low mileage 98?

I don't think there's a light in there man, I think it's a colored piece of plastic with a manual slide. If you remove the gauge cluster from the car, it still shows whatever color was in there before you removed it, so I'm pretty sure it's colored plastic.

Ok so what does it mean when it's orange? Is there a problem with the car?

Maintenance light just requires key into the dial slot or a button to be held at start (sometimes twice).

For MIL -> you can reset the MIL light on darn near anything by doing:

1. Disconnect the battery
2. Put your foot on the brake for 20 seconds
3. Reconnect the battery - done!

Of course that doesn't fix any problems that made MIL come on in the first place.

No, it is just a reminder to perform the necessary maintenance on your vehicle.

I understand what's it's there for but I can't get it to go back to green or whatever color it's supossed to be. Next time I'm at my moms house I'll try it again. Still gotta pull the radio so I can call and get the damn code for it.
