ideas for my sleeper hatch
ive been building my hatch that i baught with a blown d16. im going for a sleeper look and so far my mods are.
-jdm b16a
-url crank pully
-dc header
-full 2.5 exhaust
-gsr cams
-cai
now it looks like it belongs in a junkyard, has the trim ripped off (holes still there) faded black paint on half and black primer on the other half, steel 15' wheels, and a few dints. it also has z3 fiberglass fenders that i thaught would give it the appearance of being "rice" and therefore slow but i think im going with stock ones. my questions are what can i do to make the exhaust quieter and whats some good mods for a sleeper? i want to boost it but thats not very hidable.. thinking nitrous ?

Re: ideas for my sleeper hatch
that doesn't sound very sleeper to me....
sleeper to me would be like my dream set up:
si hatch
EITHER
DOHC zc with stock si trans with lsd
or
SOHC zc with internal work, such as DOHC zc pistons, with z6 head with mild head work and an si trans with lsd
b16 stock intake with k&n drop in filter.
maybe a 1" drop to give it the tired spring look, on something good like the classic ground control and koni's or some d2's or function and form type 2's, panted black to look stock
good sway bars and strut bars, also painted black to look stock
my oem sir exhaust (looks stock, but is 2.25" piping i believe instead of 1.75" stock)
high flow cat
full interior
steelies with hub caps
that's what i think a sleeper should look like, might my winter of 2010 project too...

thats basically what mine looks like, the body has no mods except the fenders, and there being replaced. doesnt matter what engine it has, cant see through a hood, but i agree on the exhaust part, i need something like that

Re: ideas for my sleeper hatch
I'd put a stock crank pully back on. for your Oil pump's sake. Get some bigger cams and slap some nitrous on there. I did this with my old torqueless wonder of a b16 and made 234whp. made me happy.
Edit: as far as exhaust, try a long resonator. I believe my old one was 28". Really helped keep it quiet

Re: ideas for my sleeper hatch
Building a sleeper is retarded.
If it's a honda it's either going to win, keep up with most cars or be really slow. You're not going to surprise anyone.
