Well, a fuse blowing means a short; e.g., positive wire touching ground. You're going have to start checking the wiring for shorts.

Since you said this car use to have a sound system, I would suspect it may have to do with that. Start with the wires you see in the trunk, make sure they are not touching any ground. If that doesn't solve it, continue on to check the switch wiring on the right door and may even pull off the door panel and check the wiring, etc.

Did you see any other wires that the previous owner connected to the fuse box to draw power from?

Even if there may be a problem with the multiplexer, it is still a short causing the fuse to blow.

There are wires under the dash on the drivers side that go to the power options on the door, i.e. window motors, window locks and they could be the problem. I have seen aftermarket alarms hooked up or torn out of these hondas that have this kind of issue.

They probably had a tough time finding the short and just replaced parts hoping it would take care of it. Sounds like some wires were not reconnected, as there may still be a short.

Have a 98 prelude and the ete fuse keeps blowing not allowing me to shift out of park. Haven't done anything to the car in years so not sure where to start. As soon as I change the fuse and shift it blows again. any ideas???
