I've heard that before. or "whats the R stand for, Replica?" Some of this shit is just wroth putting the window up, reversing out of your space, and leaving real slowly, because you know they're waiting for you to gun it out like the ricer they think you are. or "let's see ya spin em'. I don't remember the last time I reved my motor to show off or did the smallest peel out, anywhere.

I don't understand it either, "K series and you don't want to run?" Like HOW IGNORANT ARE YOU? All because it's a K series means it's a race motor? And the B series wasn't? 10 years ago, when you saw a brand new Integra LS, were you like "aww a B series and you don't want to run?" Too many people have there heads too far up there ass these days about cars, especially modified Hondas, and even stock ones.

Man I dont even own an R and i know what you guys mean.. (GSR -- R replica) .. i actually hate it so much that i took everything off and put on some lame rims so that every ricer wouldnt try to race me at every red light.. even like that people still try to race me because i have an exhaust or just because i have an integra.. Damn Ricer kids.. i mean seriously Its always been my dream to have an R and even though im still working my way on it i know just exactly what you guys are going through with my Replica R.. ..

i just dont get those kids.. i mean im a wannabe Type R guy too.. but you dont see me sticking my head at every integra that looks close to an R.. i just look then maybe admire /flame the car in my own head then walk away.. Im just glad that every R owner ive met always have the same type of Attitudes towards this problem..

It seems to be the average mentality among all us R owners that we drive our caRs because we love them, understand what they are, and respect them. Their is always going to be the guy (even with an ITR) who thinks he's the baddest ass on the road, has to drive wrecklessly to try and prove himself, and gives the rest of the crowd a poor reputation.

I don't have a Type R, close enough though(EK), as some folks have stated. With the ITR wheels and the white paint, it sticks out like a sore thumb. After nearly 10 years of owning it and adding parts to it to make it as close to an EK9 R as possible, I have found myself not driving it more than 2-3 times a year with fear that someone stupid would do something to it or try and steal it. Even when it's parked in the garage, with a cover on, all doors locked and secured, I'm still paranoid.

I drove it to the grocery store once, took the Sparco wheel off and inside with me. The cashier asked me, "Is that your steering wheel?". "Yes, indeed it is." "Why do you have it?" "Extra security measure.". Granted I was only in the store for no more than 20 minutes, took longer to stand in line waiting at the check out than to shop for a basketful of food.

Another time, I stopped at the hardware store, came out to find another Honda, 2 spaces over with 6 Asians in it. Turns out they had opened my hood (only to be disappointed by the stock motor at the time). I guess they didn't want anything to do with it. I was pretty ticked off but played it cool and closed the hood pins in place and drove off.

I got a 93' civic EX as a dd and it is bone stock. I was at work one night upgrading an e-mail server (at night to avoid downtime during hours), and the lights were all off in the building. I walk past the main doors on the way to the server room and look out the window to see a guys legs sticking out the door of my car. I did a triple-take and couldn't believe my eyes. I called the popo, and when I was on the phone with the operator, he got out of my car, used his key to lock my door, and walked off with my cd player and my cd wallet. The police busted him at the end of the parking lot and I got my sh!t back a couple hours later.

I need a non-honda for a dd....perhapse I'll trade my wife for her mid/late 90's saturn with the removeable faceplate. If someone see's something and their crackhead brain can't resist it, they will at least attempt to take it...I wanted so bad to take a bat to that dumb crap, but I resisted as the deck he jacked (that was in the car when I purchased it) was a "dual" brand, probably from wal-mart or something...my cd wallet was probably worth more, and another reason for using burned copies of all my cd's. No actual store bought cd's in my case.....lol!

Don't forget home security in combination with car security:
I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir, but you can put some things in place to keep people off your property for fairly cheap, which will keep most from entering your garage all-together. Security is best in layers...start by keeping people out of your garage and house where your family is asleep! Bright anoying ass lights with motion sensors that make it bright as day when any one walks down the sidewalk. An alarm on the garage door and house doors to wake up all neighbors on the block if triggered...then worry about guarding your car in the garage (dogs, guns, rape horns, mines, etc.), then the car's actual security layers.

lol! thief's worst enemy

best in-house security i have thought about was a couple pit bulls in the garage (with a nice warm dog bed of course ) and a U shaped metal bar cemented into the ground with a thick chain around the axle

1) Why did you make it so easy for them to open the hood?

2) Why did your alarm not trigger when the hood was opened?

I was on my way home from work last week, stopped at a town about 10 miles south of where the mall is to get something to eat at a convienent store. Saw a group of kids hanging out in the parking lot with there cars all backed in so I knew someone was going to approach me about my car. So after parking far away enough to give the vib that I don't wan to be bothered, a kid (probably around 21) approached me and said, you work at the mall, right? I told him he had that right. He takes out his cell phone, shows me tons of pics of MY car, I knew they were taken on different days because of the cars in the background of the pictures were all different. So after getting the kid off my ass about my car I finally got to go in the store and order the sandwich I've been craving all night. About seven minutes go by and I'm walking out of the store, walk around the corner of the place to go to my car, to see he pulled his car up next to mine, there are three kids with tripods and cameras set up all around my car, kids looking under it (I'm seeing this as I'm walking toward my car) for who knows what reason. I try to act real cool, approached the kids with the cameras and told him to get it away from my car, I don't want any bullshit like this, I'm on my way out. (These kids know where I work, I'm being real cool because I don't want my shit keyed or stolen) The kids start to back off once they see I'm not in any mood to play games, and I'm trying to leave. One asked where I worked in the mall (I'm in security) and I told him it didn't matter, I'm always watching everything. So from then on I see this kids at the mall having like Honda meets next to my car, comming in, finding me, asking me about it, ect. This is what made me decide I NEED a daily driver real QUICK. My car is yellow and sticks out like a sore thumb in the parking lot. The attention you get for having an R, and a yellow one, SUCKS.

So that's my awesome story, I'm sure you all cared for it, I'm bored and had the energy to type all this up. I'm sure there are tons of you guys on here with similiar stories and worse ones..
Good luck getting your new dd, I'm sure they're just curious kids, but you can never be too careful, who knows who they'll tell about seeing a PY ITR at the mall. Anywho, good luck.

I feel blessed that I live in a place (for now) that if I'm not home neighbours won't think twice about giving a thief lead poisoning. Then they will be begging for the Sherriff to stop them from getting what they really desreve.

Funny you mention that. I went to school with this guy who had a RICEDDDDDDD out automatic civic that would pop his car in neutral and rev it a tad, then pop it in drive so people thought he had a stick shift. I'm like .... christ dude, that can't be good for your tranny

The red light revers are the best. You hear the car go into park or neutral and they stomp on the gas until it hits the rev limit, and the driver will look at you with that plain look on his face or then ask you "got anything done to the teggy?" I'm like, whats a "teggy"? It's usually a kid in a Cavalier, EG civic, or some other riced out piece of shit with 10k HID's and neon lights on there wiper fluid squirters.

LOL! Then you know how I feel. Is this some mental disorder these kids have? I mean I really don't understand where this mentality comes from. God I hope it's not contageous.

I don't know what it is either. I don't know where these kids get off thinking they have a "race car" after they install a cherry bomb muffler on there car, or just have a Civic/Integra period. Where they feel the desperate need to acelerate as fast they can everytime they take off from a red light, or out of a parking lot. I drive a yellow ITR and I don't remember ever once driving like that in it. Honestly, I feel my car isn't all that fast, and I never have the erge to come neck and neck next to a car on the highway and start driving wrecklessly and acting like a complete moron. I don't understand it..

Red light revvers lmao I get it all the time and just look at them and shake my head sometimes facepalm at the stupidity. I have never revved my car at someone. Theres really no point lol. I'll admit I had to whoop this stupid Sentra SE-R drivers ass at a red light. The guy has anti rice stickers and all kinds of dumb stickers bashing Honda's or imports but he drives a Nissan? That sounds like a weedwhacker... so he looks over at me and he doesnt even know this is the real deal and he revs a little and I know he wants a race. The light turns green and I take off slowly to see if he will really be racing and once he passed me I hammered on it and flew past him. The facial expression was priceless, I think he was checking for a front mount because he was baffled. Other than that if someone wants to run I tell them lets take it to the track. They usually decline and try to make excuses. I think every week I get someone trying to race me and I just stay the speed I'm already going and ignore them. I've had a freakin Lincoln Town car that sped up to me and drove next to me on and off accelerating and falling back to next to me expecting me to take off. Idiots out there I tell ya.

Thats because you appreciate your ITR for what it is and use the common sense that God gave you and not acting like a stupid tool. These idiots just choose not to use theirs. As far as being fast, I drove a friends R34 back in August of this year and after that, nothing is fast anymore! Even if I turbo my R it'll never compare to that. So I'll just drive it and enjoy as I have my idiot radar on. lol

Thats funny, I drive an old 94 SE-R with header and a (mellow) sounding exhaust and I get revved on constantly. I don't do the red light crap but I'll admit I've put a few donks in their place with the little thing. They don't know it has the 2.0 ltr because I debadged it.
