Default o2 civic ex check engine light.

Is there a way to retreave engine codes without an OBDII tester on a 2002 honda civic EX?

I recommend using an OBD-II scanner to read the code.

With that said, here is a link to retrieve the code on an RSX by jumping certain pins on the port. May possibly work for the EP3 Civics. This link is for informational or entertainment purposes only. I don't want you burning out your ECU. Do at your own risk, I recommend using a scanner. Like others said, some place scan for free (In some states, such as parts of CA, the Autozones lets you borrow/loan the scanner with a credit card as deposit for free (if returned undamaged), and will not scan for you.)
