The all-new 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour will feature a versatile, upscale 5-passenger interior with an innovative rear storage area, a standard 3.5-liter i-VTEC V-6 engine and available four-wheel drive when it goes on sale in November, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today.

"Honda has a longstanding reputation for maximizing interior space and utility in its vehicles," said Erik Berkman, vice president of corporate planning and logistics for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Like the award-winning Honda Fit, the Accord Crosstour uses a versatile design to create an interior that functions with the practicality of a larger vehicle."

The rear storage area features an innovative 8-inch deep under-floor Hidden Removable Utility Box with a reversible lid, featuring both plush-carpeted and durable-plastic sides. Levers near the interior fender wells, conveniently accessible from the tailgate opening, allow for one-touch conversion of the seats into the floor for additional cargo space.

The interior design is intended to enhance the feeling of width and space in the passenger cabin while creating a premium and accommodating atmosphere. The inset sculpting of the instrument panel along with a wide center console increases the sense of roominess. Intuitively grouped controls for the audio, climate and available navigation system are designed to operate with solidity and precision.

The exterior styling evolves the Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) concept by integrating a sleek and aerodynamic shape that blends sporty, low-profile contours with versatile CUV functionality.

I really can't wait to drive this car. I hope they have the awd one there (see other thread on Crosstour Ride and Drive) which I would assume they will have it there.

I don't think we know for sure, yet.

For whatever it is worth, Edmunds shows the AWD V6 automatic at 31,000.

I doubt there would be any options to add except through dealer accessories.

Don't regular V6 Accords cost that much now? Seems like this car would cost more. I guess, if they make some without leather or moonroof etc., $31k would be doable. This car appeals to me, but not if it cost $35k +. I think I would opt for a TL at that price.

The TL is not in the same scope. This car is competing with the Volvo XC60, BMW X6, Audi Avant series, and Mercedes station wagon types and I'm sure I'm leaving out others. I would probably opt for a TL if I didn't want the Accord V6.

Since the Crosstour is considerably cheaper than the aforementioned models (except the Volvo) then I would opt for the crosstour. But I don't know since my wife and I haven't gone shopping yet. I'm sure we'll wait until next spring or so.

Here is the car that almost came to be. They went with the cheap-ZDX look instead of the Accord wagon look, but both designs were in the running for quite a while.

If they go ahead and sell this as the Accord Latitude, right beside the Accord Crosstour, I wonder which one would sell better.

That seems apt. It's an Accord, so that sounds right if it's only the size you're talking about.

Some people might say that it shouldn't be in a list like that, though. It's not an SUV or truck of any kind. When you're driving it, you feel more like you're in a car...assuming it drives like the ZDX, of course.

It's the regular Accord double wishbone suspension, but with VTM4 (not SH-AWD).

There is no pricing set for this vehicle yet. Our estimated time of arrival is 11-22-09. If you want to compare it to something, than the Toyota Venza is exactly the same other than the obvious. So yes, this is in the same class as the Venza, Murano and the CX-7 and not the Mercedes, or the Volvo or the BMW???

Trim levels are ONLY EX and EX-L in V6, 2wd & 4wd.

Spare tire is located underneath (similiar to the Pilot, pulley system). No run-flats. Honda announced that they will not use runflats anymore.

I do know it shares the same driveline as the pilot , vtm-4 with v6 only option maybe a 2 wheel drive.

I'm pretty sure the big grille fastback is already in production.

The Accord Wagon was posted only to show that they were looking at that alternative.

George,

Its drives great...far better than its competitor, the Venza! Its sharp around the corners, you know, just like the regular Accord V6 because of its stabilizer bars. I would like to drive it in the snow or rain when its slippery tho.

The Honda "ride n drives" are short routes with very little demand. I could barely pick it up to speed. It should be out shortly. You should test drive one

What is it with Honda NA...the Acura grille is HUGE and then now this grille is even larger! lol

Its like a fight with Audi over largest North American grille.

Should be a winner though...CR-Vs sell well and this is basically the Accord version of the Civic/CRV....more room, more power and more style for not a whole lot more money.

I like it. If I were shopping for a car right now, I would definitely try it out. They do make a 2wd model, right? It never snows in Louisiana, and I don't think I would go mud riding with it.

soo, its a 4x4 bastardized accord wago-hatch...

hopefully its got enought junk in the trunk to balance it out so it doesnt understeer like a boat

i like the shape of the back 3/4 but i think it needs a front end swap and a lip, or something, jeez thats gaudy

The pictures of the red car remind me of that Chrysler sports car called the Crosswind or Crossfire, something like that.

They look a little better in person, if that helps any.
