You can put the TPMS sensors on pretty much any wheels, and definitely any newer Honda wheel.

mine get rotated at every oil change, not cause they need it, just habit, but yes you can rotate them, they are not governed to staying in one location, and the tpms isn't designed for them to be, that would be just dumb if they were, which would be another reason why some think they already suck, i like mine, then yet i decided to keep my OE wheels on the car.

Yeah...the TPMS sensors are not specific to a certain wheel.

Considering most places like Discount Tire will put new sensors in (for most applications), you're not limited to what rims you can use especially it being from another Honda.

Yes. I bought another set of sensors for my next set of wheels that way I can interchange between the two sets without having a 'TPMS' error light.

K5 you can't do that because the ECU only recognizes one set of tpms. I did the same thing and took my new wheels and sensors the the dealer and they told me than once they "initialize" the new sensors the ECU will not recognize the originals sensors

Oh damn it. Did they charge you for initializing your sensors?

Sorry for going off topic, but I can't believe you guys go through all that crap (money and time) just for TPMS.
I, myself, would sell the sensors, get some money back, and remove the bulb for the TPMS light. |

So what years did the tpms come on the civics? I'm not up on this at all and it sounds dumb but if my tire pressure gets low I throw a light so I have tpms right? Or no?

its a law that came into effect in 2008. all vehicles 08 and newer are required to have tpms sensors.

I drive an '06. I pump my tires to 40psi and check my pressure every week. With this routine, if I had an '08+, how would I fail the emissions test because of the TPMS?? Airbag is a safety feature, too. If I don't replace the airbig after deployment, will I get a citation, too? |

if you check your tire pressure every week and make sure its at 40psi if you had an 08+ you wouldnt fail smog because the light wouldnt be on. i've explained earlier why it is an emissions device, do you at least agree with me on that? do you have adobe reader? http://www.bar.ca.gov/80_BARResource...08-09%20V3.pdf hit crtl+f and search "tire" and 4 of 5 key words found talk about visual inspection of the the tire being at safe proper operating condition, a tire that is under inflated is obviously not.
